The Vehicle will be parked inside a garage or a lot at O'Hare International Airport and we do not charge a delivery fee. We do however ask the guest to pay a parking fee when exiting the garage/lot. We find this to be the most economical for our Guests as many other Hosts charge a Delivery Fee. Typically, your parking will be $30 or less and anything above $30 will be reimbursed to you at the end of the trip(per TURO Guidelines.) Reimbursement is based on the time between when we deliver the vehicle to the lot and your original scheduled arrival time listed in Turo. Any delays that cause additional parking fees past the scheduled arrival time listed in Turo are the responsibility of the Guest. When should I use 4-Wheel Drive (4WD) ?
4 wheel drive should only be used when road conditions are hazardous(Snow as an example) and extra traction is required for driving stability. Using 4WD continuously over 45 miles/hour is not recommended and could damage the engine. Occasion use for non-paved roads is also another use. Driving over large objects like boulders, logs and similar objects should be avoided and could cause high-centered issues. If there are any questions as to when to use 4WD, please consult your host before using.
Can I remove the rear bed cover?
The rear bed cover should not be removed at any time unless explicitly agreed upon by your Turo Host.
Can I transport large amounts of un-bagged soil, mulch, crushed rock or similar product in the bed of the truck?
No, no un-bagged products should be loaded into or transported in the rear bed of the truck.
Can I lock the rear bed of the truck?
Yes, The rear bed of the truck can be locked to transport luggage 🧳 and other personal items and is waterproof/weatherproof however it is NOT temperature controlled.
Is there a full size spare tire available for the truck?
Yes, I full-size spare and jack are provided. However, for your safety and others, we recommend using Turo Support for roadside assistance in the unlikely event of a flat tire. Changing a flat tire on any road can be unsafe.
Do you approve out-of-state and/or Long-distance trips?
We ask that each guest notify us if they will be traveling out of the State of IL so that we can ensure that we can support you in the unlikely event that you may need roadside assistance. Long distance trips are often not approved however travel into neighboring border states for a reasonable distance is acceptable. EX: A guest would like to rent a vehicle to travel from Milwaukee, WI to Florida for a 1 week trip (This will NOT be approved...book a flight to Florida) EX: A guest will be traveling to see family for 5 days from Chicago to Western Michigan. (This will be approved) EX: A Guest wants to travel from Chicago to Kansas City, MO to visit family for 7 days. (This will not be approved...book a flight to KC) EX: A Guest would like to travel from Chicago to Eastern, IA to visit family for 3 days. (This will be approved)
Can I use the Truck to tow a trailer or other items?
Towing of any trailer or trailered items is NOT permitted. The truck is NOT insured to do so either by my insurance or through Turo.
Do you offer your vehicle to local Guests?
Local pickups in Lake Forest by referral or for repeat customers only. We will only accept pickups at O’Hare International Airport (ORD) for guests visiting and or landing at the airport. If you book for pickup at ORD and you are local your booking will be cancelled.
Is the vehicle tracked by a GPS device?
All of our vehicles use Apple AirTags to assist with locating lost key fobs. The Host may also use a GPS tracker at anytime to locate the vehicle for any reason which includes, and is not limited to, locating the vehicle for roadside assistance, assist Guests with reaching a destination or for other non-specific issues related to possible theft or mis-use of the vehicle.
What is the Guest’s responsibility for a Flat Tire?
Flat tire damage | Guests Guests are responsible for the vehicle during the booked period of a trip, so they could be responsible for the cost to repair or replace a flat tire. Responsibility for a flat tire You may be responsible for the cost to repair or replace a flat tire, as you’re responsible for the vehicle during the booked period of your trip. If a flat tire is due to deterioration, age, rot, or pre-existing condition, the host is responsible for the damage costs. We'll review the pre- and post-trip photos to understand the cause of the flat tire. If we determine you’re responsible, we’ll let you know within a day or two after your host files the claim. If we determine you weren’t responsible for the flat and you paid for the repair or replacement with your host's permission, we'll reimburse you for that amount. If you’re a guest in the US or Canada and choose the Premier plan, you won’t pay flat tire costs. If you’re a guest in Australia and choose the Premier plan, you won’t pay flat tyre costs. If you’re a guest in the UK and choose the Premier plan, we’ll charge you up to your excess of £250 for flat tyre damage. Note: If tire damage results from engaging in any Prohibited uses, your protection plan won’t cover repair or replacement. You’ll be responsible for the damage costs. Flat tire assistance during a trip If you get a flat tire, call for roadside assistance.
