How does charging work?
The easiest method is to use the Tesla Superchargers which are visible on the map as red dots with numbers; which represents current availability. Tapping on one will show you the rates, wait times, availability and can initiate GPS routing. After your trip, we'll send an invoice for all the charges. The charge port is on the driver side, side tail light. It can be opened through the car menu, pressing on the light, or using the button on the charger cable.
What about home charging? How long does it take?
For Level 2 home charging, which some venues also have, the vehicle already has the adapter in the glove compartment. We have a home charger that may be requested on a first come first serve bases. It comes with two plug options. The 120V (household outlet) will charge ~4mi/hr. The 240V is a NEMA 14-50 and will charge ~30mi/hr.
Do I have to use Tesla Superchargers?
No you don't! Most companies require you to set up an account with them and attach the vehicle to use. Some, like Electrify America, let you use a credit card reader like a traditional gas station. However, the port configurations are different and you'll want to confirm they support Tesla/NACS before arriving. We have a CCS to NACS adapter that may be requested on a first come first serve bases.
How do toll roads work?
Our vehicles are allowed to use all toll roads throughout California. Their system will scan our license plates and charge the default rate with no penalization for no transponders. Per Turo's Terms, we will collect this after your trip through the invoicing feature. To avoid late fees please notify us by the end of the trip so we can look for it.
Do you do vehicle drop-off and pick-up?
Short answer is yes! Turo's interface doesn't provide enough flexibility to cover each scenario and hence this FAQ. Please note, while we'll do our best to help, we can't handle every guest and we price each delivery individually. After you book, let me know which you need (vehicle drop-off and/or pick-up) along with the address. The faster we can commit, the sooner you can adjust your booking if needed. Once we've agreed on a price, we accept Zelle or cash (at pick-up) to guarantee your delivery. We can also generate invoices with our company letterhead for any business travelers, which we'll send via email.
How to do San Diego Airport deliveries?
Starting June 30, 2024 Turo isn't allowed to do peer-to-peer car rental handoffs at the airport or any of the premise parking lots. Attached below is the support article for reference. Currently the airport is also in the middle of a mega renovation of Terminal 1 (primarily Southwest) and its unsafe to get out via walking without going around through Terminal 2 (10-15min walk). We have two alternatives the team can support. First is a park about 10-15min walk from Terminal 2, we can meet at. Second is coordinating dropping off at your hotel/Airbnb if its within the downtown area and you decide to take an Uber/Lyft from the airport. We charge $60 and will need to coordinate with you over messaging. Once you booked, please let me know in the message you're flying in and I'll reach out to coordinate. We're also annoyed with this complication and hope Turo finds a quick solution. https://help.turo.com/en_us/airport-delivery-restrictions-H1sULElEc#deliveryrestrictionatsandiegointernationalairport(san)

Great car and host! Will book again
Was adamant we offered FSD (not mentioned in description nor a stock feature), saying he'd cancel if it wasn't. We were coincidentally in a trial during their rental. At return, vehicle was in a Stike Out state; disabling FSD & Auto Steering (stock feature) for a week + a month probation. This ONLY affects the vehicle & NOT the driver profile. Had to change our business to respect future guests. Noticed after rating; would demote to 3 Stars as Tesla wouldn't disclose if all 5 offenses were his.

Everything was very smooth and Adam was very responsive to any questions that came up! The car was very clean and well a Tesla. So plenty of responsiveness out of the car too. :). A great car if you need a Turo.
