Unlike hard-tops that require you to look for space in your garage/airbnb to store window panels, soft-top panels can be taken with you and safely stored in our storage bag (available upon request) so you do not have to worry about the weather changing on you. HEIGHT: 6'3" (be aware of clearance when driving into parking structures) Must have a 7'5 clearance if you have the top folded back. FUEL: 87 Octane Transmission: Automatic Single car seat is allowed in the back row only. OFF-ROADING/SAND DUNING IS NOT ALLOWED. Leisure dirt paths OK. Not sure? Ask! Violators will be reported to Turo and may result in an account ban / fines / damages. If you plan on removing the windows, let me know so I can provide a storage bag. Improper storage will cause scratches and deformities. Many renters avoid detaching the panels and instead only open the top for an exposed sun roof. SUN ROOF: Open the driver and passenger sun visors to expose 2 plastic buckles. Undo the buckles by pulling it down, forward and release. Lift soft-top from the front. It will fold backwards. Can I take Bucky off-roading?
WE DO NOT ALLOW OFF-ROADING but leisure dirt paths are OK. If you are unsure, just reach out and ask! Off-roading is an expensive sport where damage and replacements happen regularly. Unless you are willing to pay thousands, I highly suggest not taking the risk.
How do I take the top off?
Tutorial video: https://bit.ly/3y4OpWf Storage bag for panels is available by request. If you plan to take the windows off, you must place them into a jeep designated storage bag to ensure no scratches or damage.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, but we do discourage it as pet hair is hard to get out of the felt material around the car. For this reason, we have a non-refundable $100 pet fee and any additional cleaning fee if vehicle is returned in filthy condition. There will be a $150 penalty if we find out you took your pet without informing us.
Can I take Bucky into the snow? Do I need chains?
Yes, we love taking Bucky to the snow! This vehicle has mud-terrain tires and a 4 wheel drive function that assists you in the snow. You have to manually turn it into 4-high when driving on snow, and switching it back when you are in better terrain. You will not need snow chains unless conditions are extremely bad and there are signs specifying 4WD vehicles to do so. Just drive slow, be cautious of your surroundings, and enjoy the ride.
Can you deliver to SFO?
Yes! We can! For a limited time, we are offering free deliveries to SFO. Renter is responsible for parking charges during pickup and drop off.
