If i have one piece of advice for anyone thinking about renting from Jack it would find someone else. I requested dates to book his vehicle and Jack declined since he could not deliver the vehicle to where I was saying he was at work so he was unavailable to deliver which I totally understood. So then I requested another time to rent his vehicle with the same dates just instead I would pick up the vehicle and not only did Jack confirm it but it was confirmed before i could even click to switch pages (And the whole him confirming the rental is very important for what I am about to share). Now being new to TURO like anyone I am bound to make some mistakes (the first being I rented from this Jack guy, the second was I did not message him right away that I rented the his car which I had NO idea I had to since well all the information he just confirmed was right there so he knew he had a reservation coming yet expected me to let him know I rented his car?? Ok......I can let that go but then the fun starts and I was supposed to pick up his car at 830 and being that I was running a whole min behind I messaged him to tell him we were running behind but right around the corner. We show up at the address that it says to pick up the vehicle and nobody answers the door. Then my Fiance and I notice a vehicle down the hill that looks just like the one we are supposed to pick up so I go compare the plate numbers and sure enough Jack has his customers going up to a place and knocking on a door that has nothing to do with Turo. Now we have bee waiting for 30 min when we call the customer support line who then has to get a hold of Jack. So Jack calls me telling me he is at work, the door I was knocking on was actually not his, he needed to get a hold of his friend who he would have bring the keys in like 10 min. Now we are at l like an hour of waiting when I am going rough my phone trying to text him and by accident i call Jack and it doesn't even ring once but guess who calls me back within 10 seconds. I tell him that was an accident I am sorry so Jack goes on a rant telling me he doesn't appreciate that I did not message him (remember I told you that would be important later if you don't remember look up top) which I did at 830 and that he had no idea we were coming which IDK how if he confirmed the trip and also read the message i sent him. So now we are at like an hour and 15 min Jack tells me just be patient plz someone is on the way and he is just so rude its ridiculous but by this time I am not gonna cancel because look we are already there and then about 5 min later guess who pulls up but his friend who has to go up to the house we are standing in front of to get the keys??? LIke are you serious.....anyways we waited a good hour and a half for the keys and Jack felt like he did us a favor but oh well I will never have to deal with him again until I return the car right.......Yeah the fun just begins. So the car is ok I mean for a 2010 its actually better than OK but then it goes down hill quick. While driving on the freeway once you went above 45 the car started pulling to the left which means it needed an alignment, by day two of having the car the breaks started really making noise and also every time you started the car it sounded like a transformer or like you were about to take off. In the profile of the car Jack says it gets great gas milage....Not true and then there is what happened on my last day of renting his car. I woke up at 9am for Mothers Day went out to start the car so my fiance could run to the store and it would not turn over and was making the clicking sound. I had someone try to jump the car for me and nothing at which I called for roadside assistance from Turo who then sent a tow truck to have his car towed to a auto repair shop. I told Jack what was happening and Jack proceeded to ask me what I did to his car, called me a liar and told me I needed to pay for everything. I was a polite as I could be until he kept pushing telling me its my fault ect ect....at that point I was done talking to Jack and I said goodbye the way angry adults say goodbye to one another and hung up on him. when the tow truck picked up his car I messaged him letting him know where the car was and that was that. At least I thought until I got a call from Turo security telling me I had not returned the car but thats another story for another time. What ever you do just rent a car from someone else because Jack is probably the rudest peer to peer I have ever come across and if I had the time in my life I would do everything and anything to let every single person in Salem or its surrounding cities to stay away from him

Jack was right. His 2010 Rav4 was clean, very well maintained, and a pleasure to drive. It was ready to go when I arrived. Will definitely rent it again when I am back for another conference. 5 stars all the way.
