Description

Nearly-new "Recreation-Ready" Subaru Crosstrek with all wheel drive, heated black leather seats, rubber floor mats, bluetooth, and all the room and supplies you need for heading to the mountain, a trip to the Columbia River Gorge, or just around the city. This sporty car has great power and a tight turning radius, fantastic for finding a parking spot in Portland. The back hatch area has ample room for sporting equipment, and a half seat drop-down leaves room for 3 in the car while packing ski equipment. With the Subaru's AWD you won't need chains, but chains plus a snow/ice scraper are always included in the back during winter season. This car is pet friendly, though I ask that pets be kept in the back hatch area to avoid damage to the leather seats. CITY-READY Includes an M-Zone parking permit which allows you to park for free in any M-Zone area of Portland (NW Alphabet District and parts of the Pearl District). Great for those renting an Airbnb in these neighborhoods! RECREATION-READY We've included a "recreation" tub in the back hatch, complete with: - Flashlight, first aid kit, bottle opener, small trash bags to store boots coming off the trail, hand towel, hand sanitizer, wipes. - Area Hike and Cycling Guide Books: (1) Hiking the Columbia River Gorge; (2) Hiking Oregon's Mount Hood and Badger Creek Wilderness; (3) Oregon Coast Hikes; (4) 100 Hikes in the Central Oregon Cascades; (5) 100 Hikes in Northwest Oregon; (6) Road Biking Oregon. - Recreational Road Maps for Oregon and Washington - Upon request, we also have a wide range of topographic maps available to borrow with your vehicle rental for the greater Columbia River Gorge and Mount Hood Wilderness. ASK FOR A RECOMMENDATION I'm an avid hiker and cyclist and know the area well — let me know if you need suggestions for day hikes, cycling routes, and/or great brewpubs/eateries in and around Portland, Hood River, Mt. Hood, the Oregon Coast, or the Columbia River Gorge. NOTE: The 2018 Gorge wildfires mean that several hiking trails in the Columbia River Gorge are still closed — check online to confirm if your trail is open. Additional trail closures may be in effect during wildfire season from July-September.

Parking details

Pick up and delivery is from my home in NW Portland. The address is close to Portland Streetcar routes. No long-term street parking without a residential permit in this area.

Guidelines

There is no smoking or vaping in this vehicle, absolutely no exceptions. Please avoid heavy perfumes or cologne use in the vehicle either — This might sounds strange but owner is allergic to perfumes. If either rule is not followed you will be charged the cost of detailing the vehicle. Renters traveling to the Oregon coast are asked to vacuum the vehicle of all sand prior to return, or be charged a $30 cleaning fee. Dogs are welcome in the back hatch area of the vehicle only (to protect the leather seats from scratches). If traveling with a dog, please return the vehicle cleaned (vacuumed and wiped down as needed), or be charged a $30 cleaning fee.

Faqs

  • What if I go over the mileage?

You will be charged immediately following your trip per Turo's fee structure. While the surcharge changes to adapt tot he going rate for fuel, it's typically about $.90 per mile.

  • What if I forget to refuel the tank?

You'll be charged for fuel at $3.50 per gallon for fuel under the full tank. For instance, if you're fuel level is at 3/4 of a tank, you'll be charged for 1/4 of a tank (or 3.9 gallons x $3.50 or $13.65.

  • Where do I pick up and drop off the vehicle?

We offer several options, including pickup and drop off from my home in NW Portland, delivery within the downtown Portland, NW Portland, Pearl District or South Waterfront neighborhoods; and delivery to the Portland International airport (airport pickup/drop off accrues an additional $25 charge).

  • Can my dog travel in the car?

Yes, dogs are allowed but please keep them in the back hatch area ONLY to protect the leather seats. Please take care to clean out the back hatch area (vacuum and wipe down pet hair and dirt) before returning the vehicle. Dogs are not allowed on the interior seats as claws can damage the leather seats.

Super nice car and person. Having the bike rack included was great because we were on vacation and had rented MTB.
