Faqs

  • How can I charge the car?

There are various ways to charge including charging at home, destination chargers, and super chargers. At Home Charging: I provide the standard Tesla Charging cable in the trunk. Under the second lift out trunk board you can find a tesla charging bag with the following adapters: NEMA 5-15 Adapater (Standard 120 Volt Household Outlet, Charges at ~4 miles/hour) NEMA 10-30 Adapater (Standard 220 Dryer Outlet, Charges at ~21 miles/hour) NEMA 14-50 Adapater (Standard 220 Household Stove Outlet, Charges at ~29 miles/hour) On the Charging cable, you can change the adapter by pulling the adapter end out, and pushing in the new one. Destination Charging: On the Tesla Map Screen you can see icons in the lower right hand side that looks like a bolt. If you click this it will show you the many destination chargers throughout the city you can charge at. These typically do not have a cost and charge at about 30 miles/hour. You can see level 1 (household charging outlet), level 2 (destination chargers), and level 3 (Super Chargers). I have also included the following adapter which can be used at some older or off brand destination chargers: SAE J1772 Charging Adapter (Used at some destination chargers) Super Charging: Tesla currently plans to have a super charger in New Orleans by the end of 2020, but I have not heard anything more. There are super chargers in Baton Rouge and Slidell. Super Chargers can charge ~50 percent of the battery in about 15 minutes. Super Charging sessions cost ~6 dollars. These are billed to me, and when you end your trip I will forward on the cost to you. Other Charging Notes: I will provide the car with around 220-250 EPA miles of range. The charge dial will be set to 90 percent. If not needed, I would urge you to put it at 80 percent to save battery life. Please do not charge to full unless you are on a road trip and intend to immediately discharge at least 20 percent of the battery. Please make sure to adjust the dial back down afterwards to ensure it does not accidentally charge to 100 percent. A 20 dollar charging fee will be added at checkout if the car is below 100 miles of charge.

  • How do I turn the car on/off?

Simple answer, you don't. There is no engine to start, the car is always on. Just put it in park and walk away. ^_^

  • How do I set up my driver profile?

Your car will prompt you to create and save a driver profile when you first adjust the driver's seat, steering wheel, or side mirror. To access or create a driver profile at a later date: Tap the 'Driver Profile' icon located at the top of your touchscreen. Tap 'Add New Driver,' type in the desired name and tap 'Create Profile.' Adjust your seat, mirrors, steering and more to your comfort, and select save. You can save up to 10 different driver profiles to your car. Back to Top

  • Should I get one?

Absolutely, In fact, Most of my customers rent out my car as a test and all have come back wanting one.

  • How do I view the manual?

You can also access the Owner's Manual by tapping the Tesla “T” logo at the top of your car’s touchscreen.

  • This is my first time in a Tesla, anything I should know?

Yes! Tesla are unlike any traditional vehicle you have been in. Things are far easier and simplified but not always intuitive. For starters, to open the door, you only use the small square buttons. I suggest catching up on some youtube videos prior to your ride. I suggest this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLV0crjS0NQ Additionally, Tesla has videos tutorials in the car, and a manual that is easy to search on the touchscreen.
