This trip was a nightmare. Almost everyday, there was some sort of mechanical issue. Mostly, it was that it took several times to start the car (once a day everyday for a few weeks). The scarier incident was that the car died while in drive in a national park with no reception to call a tow truck. Even from day one, the car came with a headlight missing and Austin told me that he suspected an issue with the tire ("if theres a leak, it would be a slow leak" he said). Austin was very nonchalant about these issues, saying that the starting problem was something that happened with his other cars in the past, and that the fact that it stalled only once and not a second time was actually a good thing. He told me that "discounted" older cars like this shouldn't be expected to run perfectly, however, when I'm on a trip, I think being able to start a car reliably and get to a destination are pretty basic needs. Especially travelling with a kid, I need the car to at least be safe, and this car did not meet those expectations in the slightest.

Austin's response

Full response: https://pastebin.com/0YJtbeyU I did everything possible to make right the damage caused by the prior Guest. I replaced the headlight and tire pressure sensor. The car developed a not-starting on the first try issue that one other recently started doing. Other Guests were okay with that, probably due to the low severity of the issue. I offered to swap cars for Julia to a sedan, or refund remaining days plus a couple hundred, but she kept the car. So I refunded her $600.
