Guidelines

Please No Smoking! I don't want to put too many restrictions on what you can and can't do but please try to be somewhat considerate of the car. It is my primary means of transportation and is not solely a rental. I've had a lot of fun driving this car, I've put about 35k miles on it myself, take care of it and it'll take care of you.

Faqs

  • I would like to use the Tesla app to control the car and monitor charging during my trip, are you able to provide app access.

Yes! Tesla App access is available and set up by request. At the end of your trip, I'll review my Tesla account to review how many kilowatts of Supercharging you collected during your trip and request reimbursement for that amount as well as any road tolls.

  • Do you offer any discounts on longer rentals?

Yes, weekly and monthly discounts are available!

  • Useful tips to prevent range anxiety! Getting the car towed to a supercharger isn't fun.

    1) The EPA rated range of this vehicle isn't a reality for most drivers. It's based conservative driving with perfect weather conditions. The usable range is about 230 miles between charges, which should give you plenty of buffer to get from one supercharger to another. As a best practice, don't charge the car past 85% unless you're planning on a road trip, and keep your arrival range above 50 so there's a buffer incase issues occur. 2) Take every opportunity to charge if it's available. Either a supercharger, a standard EV charger, or a 220v outlet. Running out of energy in an electric vehicle isn't a great experience, best to avoid it. 3) Never cut it close. If the car runs out of charge, it will have to be towed on a flat bed truck (at your expense :/ ). 5) Prioritize superchargers when possible, they're extremely fast at charged the car to 70%/80%. If no supercharger, where possible, it is preferable to use 220V electrical sockets. These have the NEMA 14-50 or J1772 connectors. They typically charge at 20-25 miles an hour. The 110V chargers will give you just 5 miles an hour. 6) You can use the GPS in the car to find chargers.

  • What is the cleaning policy?

LIGHT CLEANING - NO CHARGE Minimal amounts of trash. Small amounts of crumbs, sand, or dirt on floor mats that can be shaken off or vacuumed out. Small marks that can be cleaned off easily by hand. MODERATE CLEANING - UP TO $50 Car exterior is returned significantly* dirtier than it was received (e.g. dirt on car body, wheels, or windows). Floor mats or upholstery are returned significantly* dirtier than they were received (e.g. requires more than a shake-out to be restored to original condition). Large amounts of food, dirt, or mud that cannot be shaken out and must be heavily vacuumed to remove. Light stains or residue on hard surfaces (e.g. liquid spills or sticky substances). *In the event of a dispute, Turo will use its discretion to determine the amount of the reimbursement. HEAVY CLEANING - $100 Major stains or residue on seat fabric or other hard-to-clean surfaces. SEVERE CLEANING - $150 Situations in which a car contains the aforementioned violations on an egregious level that would require steam cleaning or a full detail. PET HAIR - $150 If a pet enters a vehicle at any time without a host’s consent, the guest will be held responsible for having the car cleaned. Hosts may still charge cleaning fees if they give consent and the car is returned with significant amounts of pet hair. Service animals are not excluded from this policy. SMOKING - $150 $150 for smoke scent removal and/or any physical remnants of smoking (e.g. ash, cigarette butts). MAXIMUM - $250 If a car is returned with multiple cleanliness issues (such as a combination of severe cleaning and smoking remnants), the maximum fee that will be assessed is $250.

Feel free to reach out to me or the car has video when in park in Theater Mode. You can also watch below. https://www.tesla.com/support/Model-Y-videos

  • What do I do if I get a flat tire?

Teslas don't come with spare tires, so the car will need to be towed to a tire shop to get the tire repaired. If this happens please loop me in immediately so I can help you resolve it as soon as possible.

  • Are there any additional fees to rent your car?

I'll be providing you the vehicle with at least ~70% charge, if the vehicle is returned with less than that and you haven't purchased prepaid recharging, I may charge you for missing battery in accordance with Turo's rules here: https://support.turo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360056601634-Charging-for-refueling-costs
