Just a few things to protect the vehicle and all of us: 1) 🛑🛑🛑 No smoking of any kind, sorry. Breaking this rule will incur a $300 cleaning and deodorizing charge. But please, just don't do it in our car. 2) No pets, sorry! We and our children are allergic. Again, breaking this rule will incur a $300 cleaning and deodorizing charge. There are other cars on Turo that welcome pets and we would gladly direct you to them. 3) No off-roading, sorry! Turo rules prohibit driving off-pavement. 4) We may ask for proof of your own personal auto insurance as evidence of financial responsibility. • Who's sharing this Jeep with me, anyway?

  We are adventurers by way of land, sea, and air: pilots, sailors, backpackers, climbers, mountain bikers, overlanders, photographers, and more. Our vehicles help us get outside and have amazing experiences and we are bringing them to Turo to help more people see awesome places and do awesome things. We'd be happier to make a friend than to make a buck, so let's swap adventure stories as we swap keys!

• Can I borrow some outdoor adventure gear?

  Definitely! Please see the vehicle "Extras" for a selection of goodies. If you need anything else for your adventure, we probably have it - send us a message and we will do our best to accommodate you.

• Can I drive off-road?

  Turo rules and vehicle coverage strictly limit usage to driving on paved roadways. There are plenty of paved adventures to be had, though! Just ask and we would be happy to offer suggestions.

• Any suggestions on where to go for a great day/weekend/longer trip?

  Sure! We love planning adventures. Hit us up and we'll help you have a great time in the Jeep. Mountains? Maybe Big Bear, Idyllwild, Kernville, Bishop, Mammoth, or Yosemite. Desert? Maybe Joshua Tree, Death Valley, or Anza Borrego nearby, or Utah for a road trip. Forests? Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Yosemite, Redwood NP, and so many others. Beach? We love Reef Point locally or Pismo for a road trip, but we're still looking for more good "adventure" beach destinations - we welcome tips!

• Can I drive with the roof off?

  Absolutely! Send us a message after booking and we would be glad to remove the "Freedom Panels" for you - they give a great convertible experience. If you want to drive the Jeep with the entire roof off, please see the "Camper shell" extra.

• Anything I can do to help take care of the planet that is home to the adventures I love?

  We are members of 1% For The Planet, meaning we will be contributing AT LEAST 1% of our earnings from Turo to qualified conservation non-profits. Enjoy the gift of the great outdoors and pay it forward!

• Tangerine Dream?

  The name is actually inspired by a sleeping bag: a ridiculously comfy Mont Bell down miracle owned by my adventurer friend Dave. I’ve since learned that there is also an old school German electronica band with the same name - pretty good music for road tripping, actually! So don’t pay any attention to the less savory interpretations offered by Urban Dictionary.

• What about tolls?

  You are welcome to drive on toll roads. However, please know that the vehicle has a toll transponder and reimbursement will be requested through Turo for any tolls incurred during your trip. The transponder ID for this vehicle is 010300048183168. Thank you!
