We are not meticulous or picky when it comes to our vehicles being rented, as this is our business and we understand things happen and wear and tear is normal. However, unfortunately, some things have to be said and some things have to be charged for. We hope you understand and that we want you to be a happy customer! That said… A. No smoking of any kind is allowed in the vehicle (including vapes). B. No eating of any kind is allowed in the vehicle. C. No use of 4x4 low (unless going to the top of Mauna Kea and the rangers require it). 4x4 high is okay to use. D. No use of the differential lock/unlock or sway bar lock/unlock buttons. E. Return the vehicle clean and in the same condition you received it, washed and vacuumed. F. Return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel or the same level as you received it. 99.9% of the time it is full at pick up. G. No sunscreen in the vehicle (please use a towel over the seat if getting in from the beach in a swimsuit, the sunscreen on your skin will transfer and there is a fee to clean it.) H. No removal of the full hardtop roof. The ‘T-tops” can be removed. I. No removal of doors. J. No maintenance of any kind is allowed. All tire changes or towing will be done by us. K. There is an Apple Airtag in the vehicle in case we need to find it, don’t worry no one is following you if it comes up on your phone. We only check this in the case of an emergency. L. Please see the instructions to remove the “T-tops” in the Turo app under “Car Guide”. M. Instructions on how to engage 4x4 high are also in the “Car Guide” section if needed. N. Please remove the antenna if taking the Jeep through the car wash. There is a wrench in the glove box for this use. O. All paperwork for an accident or traffic stop is in the glovebox. Please give the “incident info card” to the officer for insurance. P. Aux 4 button turns on the front off-road lights and Aux 3 turns on the rear. Please keep in mind these are illegal to use on the highways and are only to be used off-road. Q. There are two main car washes on the island. 1) Lex Brodies in Hilo (1095 Kilauea Ave. Hilo, HI 96720, and 2) Lex Brodies in Kona (75-5570 Kuakini Hwy. Kailua-Kona, HI 96740) R. “Home” on the GPS system will take you to the Kona airport check-in/check-out location. S. “work” on the GPS system will take you to the Hilo airport check-in/check-out location. Incidental costs: 1) Excessively dirty return fee = $200.00 USD. (This includes, but is not limited to, muddy (not normal dirt) exterior, excessive sand inside the vehicle, sunscreen residue on interior surfaces or seats, etc.). We genuinely ask that you treat the vehicle as if it were your own. 2) Lost or irreparably damaged key = $250.00 USD (dealer cost) to cover replacing the lost/damaged key plus $100.00/hour to deliver spare key (charged from leaving the office until we return back to the office). 3) Vehicle towing fee = $100/hour from tow yard to location back to tow yard plus consumable materials needed (this applies ONLY if towing is needed due to the renter’s fault, such as: getting the vehicle stuck or running the vehicle out of fuel). Renter is not allowed to use their own towing company. 4) Broken antenna (presumably from car wash) = $50.00 USD. If you wish to avoid this and choose to take the vehicle to the car wash please remove the antenna on the passenger side or ask the car wash personnel to do it for you before proceeding into the car wash. 5) Refueling fee $10.00 + cost of fuel. ** this list is not all inclusive and we reserve the right to adjust the prices listed above or charge for other incidentals caused by the renter if the need should arise or does not fall under the descriptions above. As well, any items listed or not listed without prices will be determined at a later date depending on the incident.
