Description

This all-wheel drive vehicle is ideal for your Fairbanks stay! Comfort, cleanliness, and spaciousness is what this car offers with four leather bucket seats and a third bench seat that can seat three small adults or children. This car is perfect for a family or group traveling together. In the summer, you can cool your seat, adjust the air conditioning, and view the daylight during our "midnight sun" through the sun roof. In the winter, turn the heat up on those comfortable leather seats, adjust your own individual temperature, use the mirror defrosters when needed, recline your seats and view the aurora borealis through the moon roof. The rear window shades keep the children from direct sunlight while riding in the back seats. There is a special "conversation mirror" so that you can see the rear passengers if you need to see/talk with them. Plenty of space for your luggage. Need to grab a tissue, hand sanitizer, or napkin? It is there waiting for you.

Guidelines

•Please leave the hand sanitizer with the car for the next guests to use. •No driving on gravel roads. Call Alaska Auto Rental for that experience. •No smoking. •No pets.

Faqs

  • Do you have winter tires?

Blizzak tires are best for our winter conditions and are mounted on the car when the snow flies.

  • Is the car winterized?

Yes, the car is ready for winter temperatures. Be sure to follow the guidelines about the frigid temperatures and when it is appropriate to plug your vehicle in. If you drive it to a flight tour or van tour and they do not have outlets and it is 20 degrees or colder, let me know and I can pick up the car and "babysit" it while you are gone on your day or overnight trip to the Arctic Circle, Coldfoot, Nome, or other remote places. I would rather be safe than sorry.

  • Is the drive to Denali National Park considered a dirt road trip?

No, the Parks Highway road to Denali National Park is all paved and a wonderful destination with your rental. Visitors to the park are allowed a short drive into the park during different parts of the year. This limited short trip is on dirt and speeds are low. However, do not confuse this destination with the Denali Highway which is all dirt road and travels from Cantwell to Paxson. This is not allowed.

  • Does the car have a tow hitch?

No, the car is not intended for towing. If you have large amounts of luggage you might consider renting a roof rack or making two trips to your hotel or vacation rental destination.

Katherine was an amazing host. Our flight was delayed and she was very accommodating. This was our first time using Turo and it was a great experience..

Katherine's response

Congratulations to the newlyweds! Glad you got to fly up through the clouds and see Denali during your shortened trip. I am excited for your return to see the aurora! I hope you get some great photos beneath the aurora.

Katherine was wonderful. The car is immaculate and it was very easy to install car seats

Katherine's response

I was happy to host this family from the east coast. Read about the things they recommend in the guest book inside the car. Guests share their experiences with one another. It was nice to find out putting in the car seats they were traveling with was simple to do with the features in the Highlander.

Katherine was such a pleasure to meet. Great trip, friendly, and so much fun. Thanks!

Katherine's response

These three really enjoyed the space, comfort of the bucket seats front and rear, and the smooth ride. They did share a tip when they got back: if the rear glass hatch is even the slightest bit open- the rear door will not close. Good to know!! They googled it quickly and figured it out. There is a manual in the car, but they said google was faster!

When in Fairbanks, rent this car! The owner is beyond knowledgeable of Alaska and can help direct you on a great trip! The car is amazing, clean and great gas mileage!

Katherine's response

As a vacation rental owner for 16 years and resident for 46 years, I do like to share my knowledge of the local activities and I am happy to give some input when asked. I also have a guest book in the car that I encourage guests to leave their recent personal experiences while in the area to help the newly arriving guests make choices on places to go, places to eat, and places to avoid. I encourage my guests to book the car in conjunction with the property they choose online. Book early
