You are welcome to park your car in the lot while you are renting. However, responsible for any theft or damage to the vehicle during rental.

General Operation * Turning the car on/off: There is no button to turn the car on/off, simply sit down in the driver seat with the key nearby and the car will turn on automatically. Similarly once you leave the vehicle the car will automatically turn off. * Driving the car: Once the car is started, press the brake (keeping it pressed) the car will give the option to put it in drive, reverse, park, or neutral. The gear shifter is located on the right side of the steering wheel. Pull down on the gear shifter fully to put it in drive, push up on it fully to put it in reverse, press the button on the right side of the shifter to engage park (parking brake engaged automatically), pull down on shifter halfway to engage neutral. * Locking/Unlocking the car: Once you get near the driver side, the car will unlock all doors automatically. Once you leave the vehicle and walk away, the car will lock itself and fold the mirrors in automatically. * Using the Tesla GPS: The Tesla GPS is essential to ensuring you get from point A to point B with enough charge. It will route Superchargers along the way to ensure the car does not die from losing all charge. This is especially important for longer distance trips where charging stations may not be as readily available. Charging * Charging at a Supercharger: The charging port is located in the rear driver side near the corner of the taillight. When charging at a Supercharger simply press the button on the Supercharger cable when near the port. The port will automatically swing open (don’t put the charging cable too close). Once the port lights up white you can insert the charging cable fully into the port. It will flash blue meaning it is preparing to charge and then will flash green when it is charging. View charge progress within the car. Once the charging is complete press the button on the cable again and remove the cable only after the light turns white, the port will close by itself, do not push close. * Charging at other stations: When charging at other stations that are not Superchargers you will need to plug in an adapter to be able to charge. The adapter needed is provided within the car. The process is generally the same except you will need to open the charge port through the car center console and unlock the charge port from the center console once charging is complete, the light signals are the same. * Charging at home/hotel: When charging at home/hotel plug in the provided mobile connector to a supported outlet (2 different outlets are supported using two provided adapters, 1 for standard 120V and the other for 240V) follow general guidelines above to charge. The process will be similar to charging at other stations. Miscellaneous - No smoking/vaping in or around the car. - No pets allowed in the car.

• How and where do I charge?

  Best way is to find one of many super-charger charging stations. Tesla has a built-in charging network map. If you're taking a longer road trip, use the Tesla trip planning software and it will demarcate charging pitstops along the way. This vehicle will come with a mobile charger and adapter for no additional charge The mobile charger plugs into any standard outlet - however, it is exceptionally slow (3mi/hour) it is really only meant for emergency situations. The adapter can be used to plug into other chargers, Chargepoint has a good network and there are others.

• Is the Autopilot and Autosteer safe to use?

  Absolutely yes. However, understand that this is "driver-assisted" auto pilot and auto-steer. The vehicle will not let you engage either auto-drive technology if the required conditions are not met (safe speed, lane lines visible, etc). For getting around town, it can be fun to use - but it really shines on longer distance trips.

• How often do I need to charge?

  It depends on where you plan to drive and what the weather is like. If it's the mountains you seek, you will go through power pretty quick going up the steep Rocky Mountains and likely need to at least once before hitting your destinations. If it's snowing out, do it early. If it's around town driving, maybe once a week. A popular destination is Breckenridge. If you are headed there from DIA plan for a pit stop at the Silverthorne superchargers. There are two, both very good but one of them is 30% faster - check the output wattage for the destination if you're in a hurry. Breckenridge also has many 3rd party charges, many of which are free. They don't charge as fast and may not be as convenient, but they can do the job too if you don't mind the extra leg work and time.

• Are Auto Pilot and "Full Self Driving Beta" the same thing?

  No. Auto Pilot is fully automated cruise control for the highway - including lane changes, on ramps and exit ramps. Once the vehicle exits the exit ramp, Auto Pilot is automatically disengaged. "Full Self Driving" (FSD) is Auto Pilot for city driving. It includes stop sign and stop light recognition, turning, lane changes - the full shebang. As of 2022, it is still in Beta, meaning there is a lot to be worked out in terms of accuracy. It can be a bit unnerving as it navigates the streets and in particular, turning. Don't worry - it is EXTREMELY cautious and doesn't feel you are putting your life in jeopardy by engaging it. That said, keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road - it does need help once in a while. Still....pretty darn fun. :-)
