Description

I'm a 2014 Subaru Outback and I was born for the mountain life. My home is Carbondale, but I love to explore the Roaring Fork Valley and Colorado's Western Slope. As a Subaru Outback, I'm best known for AWD capability, safety, and reliability. I have relatively new tires with the Mountain Snowflake symbol that are certified for severe snow conditions. I seat 5 with a large cargo area to carry luggage, skis/snowboards (if you put down the drivers side back seat), and your furry friend. I do have my fair share of scratches and a few hail dents, but hey, I'm not trying to win any beauty contests! I'm just here to get you to the trailhead - that's what I do best! The home location at the RFTA Carbondale Bus Station is convenient for travelers arriving from the Aspen Airport. A 35 minute bus ride from the airport can take you to the RFTA Carbondale station.

Parking details

The home location is in the parking lot of the RFTA Carbondale Bus Station. This makes pick up / drop off easy if you're flying in/out of the Aspen Airport; it's a 35 minute bus ride. See https://www.rfta.com/ for details. The pick up / drop process is remote which means that the key will be accessed from a lockbox on the car.

Guidelines

An AWD Subaru Outback can get you to MOST local trailheads, but please, absolutely no traveling on 4x4 / OHV type roads and trails. This would be a prohibited use per Turo's Terms and Conditions (https://support.turo.com/hc/en-us/articles/203990570-Prohibited-uses). We don't expect you to return a shiny, sparkling clean car, but please take care of any spills, stains, and excessive dirt and mud inside and outside the vehicle. No smoking of any kind inside the vehicle.

Faqs

  • Is the car dog-friendly?

Yes! In fact, if you have a pet, let us know. We'll set you up with our dog-owner essentials kit (leash, water bowl, etc.) and a cargo liner mat that will keep your dog comfortable (and the shedding contained!).

  • What's the best way to transport skis/snowboards in the car?

We don't have an exterior ski rack so the best method is to lay down the drivers side backseat. In this configuration, the car will still seat four people with two seats in the back.
