You can download the ChargePoint or EVOgo app on your mobile phone; it will tell you the nearest charging station and cost.
How does a Hybrid vehicle work?
Plug-in hybrid vehicles like the Volvo XC90 Recharge use high-powered batteries to power an electric motor, and another fuel, such as gasoline, to power an internal combustion engine. They run on electric power, storing enough electricity in the battery to significantly reduce gasoline usage under typical driving conditions.
Is the XC90 Recharge able to run when the battery is empty?
When the battery charge is at a minimum, the vehicle is still able to run in hybrid mode. And while in Hybrid mode, you can recharge the battery using the gas engine and regenerative braking. Plus, Hybrid mode is so efficient, you can get over 450 miles to a tank!
How do I charge the XC90 Recharge?
There are several ways to recharge the battery: 1. You can charge the vehicle on a standard 120v or 240v outlet using the supplied charging cable. The charging cable is in the storage compartment behind the third row. It is recommended that a dedicated (not shared) outlet be used and that a licensed-electrician confirm the suitability of any outlet used. 2. You can charge the vehicle at a public charging station. 3. You can charge the vehicle as you drive using the gas engine by selecting the "Charge Battery" option in the infotainment menu. 4. You can charge the vehicle using regenerative braking. To increase the amount of charge during breaking, select the "B" gear, which will increase the aggressiveness of the regenerative braking.
How should the car be returned?
The XC90 Recharge should be returned in the same condition in which it is delivered. Per Turo’s policy, guests are responsible for refilling both the gas tank and the battery to the pre-trip level: https://support.turo.com/hc/en-us/articles/203990730-Paying-for-fuel The SUV should be cleaned and free of any dirt or stains; the exterior without dents or scratches. Please take 10-15 great pictures of the SUV upon return, I will be sure to give you a five star rating and a discount off your next rental.
Will "topping off” every night damage the battery?
No, "topping off" will not damage the battery.
Does the XC90 come with a toll pass?
Yes, the XC90 will have an EZ-Pass toll transponder (#01604167374) mounted to the license plate, or the license plate itself will be registered with EZ-Pass. Please use this device at EZ-Pass toll gates, and we will seek reimbursement via the Turo App at the conclusion of your trip.
Is smoking permitted in the vehicle?
NO SMOKING! All cars on Turo are non-smoking vehicles. Turo prohibits guests, their passengers, and vehicle hosts from smoking in any car listed on Turo. This policy covers the use of, but is not limited to, any tobacco or tobacco-related products, marijuana or marijuana substitutes, e-cigarettes, or personal vaporizers. Violation of this policy will result in a $250 fine by Turo, plus an additional 3% process fee and your removal from the Turo platform.
