Guidelines

By booking the car, you are confirmed that you have read and agreed to the following terms: -DRIVER: Bring a Valid ID that matches your name on the account or we cannot legally give you the vehicle. -SECOND DRIVER: If you want to add a secondary driver, please contact TURO. Or else YOU will be the only driver allowed! -LATE RETURN: Please don't be late unless you make prior arrangement. Turo late fee of $50 per hour(up-to 3X daily fee) Plus $30 admin fee will be charged. Extend the rental through the app before the trip ends. -GAS: You will be handed a car with full gas, and it is expected to be return with full gas Otherwise $25 Admin Fees with be charge on top. -SMOKING: Absolutely NO SMOKING or VAPING, food or colored liquids. Water is OK. At least $250 FINE if there is any smoke smell! -CLEANLINESS: Fees up to $250 will be charged if vehicle is particularly dirty! Please return the car the way it was handed in to avoid any extra fees. -TOLL: You will be responsible for your own parking ticket Otherwise $25 Admin Fees with be charge on top , and tolls (407ETR) $20 Admin Fees with be charge on top, please communicate with me 30 mins before pick up and handing back the keys -DAMAGE: You will be responsible for any scratches and damages of the car, so please check the car upon picking up the key. Please do not abuse the car, any signs of abusing including: Racing, drifting, intensive braking, irregular pedalling etc. Damages/excessive wear and tear would be reported to Turo, and would be carried on to guest through Turo's claims department. - Please do not lose the car key, you will be solely responsible for the key replacement fee plus car rolling fee if necessary.

I gave it a 2 only because the car helped us get around in Toronto for 11 days and me and my friends were grateful for the car. Though the breaks were squeaky, we made it through. Other than that, Johnathan did not show up at the pick up. I thought I had been talking to Johnathan before the trip but now I am suspicious if Johnathan really exists? Prior to the trip, I called “Johnathan” to ask about how the pickup and drop are going to be if I chose the delivery service? He asked if I can pay him $100 cash instead of adding delivery as a service because TURO gets 30% commission fee from that. I felt for him and negotiated it to $80 cash for his Uber rides from and to the airport, and he agreed verbally on the phone. (I’ve come to realize that TURO has a strict policy that there shouldn’t be any transaction done outside of the TURO app) . These arrangements were all done through phone calls. Pretty much every time I texted “Johnathan”, he would call me instead of texting back. Yes, I should’ve been suspicious about this. On the day when we arrived in Toronto, “Johnathan” did not show up. Instead, a friend of his came with another guy claiming “Johnathan” is out of the country and they have his phone. (“Johnathan” never informed me that me won’t be the on delivering the car.) This friend, Ralphie, told me that they can’t pick up the car from the airport when we return so we needed to drop the car at their place. And he wanted me to pay $50 cash for delivering the car to the airport. I argued that this wasn’t the agreement I had with “Johnathan” and insisted I would only pay $40. Ralphie went on like “we’re driving 2 cars to deliver the suv so this is double the mileage...” so on and so on. And then Ralphie went, if you pay my friend $50 right now, he will come to the airport to pick up the car. We decided we needed to leave and so we paid Ralphie $50 for his trip to the airport first and we would decide what to do for return later. Afterwards, we studied TURO policy again and realized that paying him cash is prohibited by TURO. We then decided we would return the car at the location indicated in TURO app and take an Uber to the airport. I texted “Jonathan” and asked where I should leave the keys. He told me to return it to a DIFFERENT location! We knew we should not fall for that again and returned the car to the address on TURO app. We strongly advice future renters to carefully study TURO policies before agreeing to anything different from the app instructions to give yourself the best protections. Ratings only tells part of the story.

I am really sorry for the bad experience you had booking one of my cars! Yes their is Jonathan and I am proud to be an allstar host hving multiple cars on Turo. Unfortunately I was out of the country for 3 weeks, Rafy was taking care of my cars. As my employee he took cash to his pocket without me knowing which is against Turo’s policy nd ill straighten things with him. The address on turo is mine so he change it to his address which is normal and within Turo’s policy! Sorry again!!
