This review is as much for the app as it is the car being this was our first rental. I’m looking around at rentals I was originally searching for unlimited mile options, but when my wife decided she wanted to see other options we quickly landed on this rental. I feel Turo is a bit misleading for sure as we both felt we were looking at 600 mile per day rentals, and only once our booking was confirmed did we realize it was now clearly stated as 200 per day. Left us a bit disappointed for sure knowing we were in it for more than 200 per day, and certainly made this rental every bit as expensive as it would have been to rent a car with unlimited miles from National or Enterprise and we know because we checked.

As for the rental. The car was generally as represented although the slider door motor was making a noise that did not sound great and you can tell that while the car has been well maintained it has been well used. Our biggest issue with this rental was the pick up situation… if there is going to be late pick up allowed there certainly needs to be safety considered and how can good photos be taken. We showed up to pick up this unit on the side of the road, with no lighting, and two large dogs trying to get over a fence to eat us. They were very aggressive and made the whole check in process very stressful because we felt like they might clear the fence at some point… I observed one with his whole head over the fence. Based on this, we would not feel comfortable renting from this host again. The van was backed up to the fence within 3 foot of these dogs so we were trying to figure out how to get in the car, get pictures and find the break release all in the dark with very aggressive dogs- not a comfortable experience at all.
