Toll Responsibility
- Guests are responsible for any tolls or fees incurred during the trip. - Toll invoices are typically received within 90 days after the trip ends, usually around mid-month. Once we receive the invoice, we will send it to you. - Once you receive the invoice, you’ll have 48 hours to pay or dispute it. 1. Check the link in the email or notification, or go to Trips > History > Trip Details to view the invoice. 2. Tap “Accept and Pay” or “Dispute” to respond.
Extra Mileage Policy
- The mileage allowance is set by the host and displayed during booking. If you exceed the limit, you’ll be charged a fee per extra mile. - The per-mile fee varies by vehicle and is detailed in the "Trip Details" section of the Turo app. - To avoid unexpected charges, review the mileage allowance and per-mile fee before starting your trip.
Adding an Additional Driver
1. Sign into the app or log on to turo.com and open the Trips tab 2. Choose Upcoming trips and open the trip you’re interested in 3. Scroll down to the section labeled ADDITIONAL DRIVERS 4. Tap “Add driver” 5. Enter the email tied to your driver’s Turo account; if they don’t have one, enter an email they check regularly 6. Tell your driver to check for an email from Turo; it could end up in their spam/junk folder
Extending Your Trip
- To extend your trip, go to Trip Details and click Extend Trip. - If the car is available, We’ll approve the request. - Be sure to submit your request before the current trip ends.
Flat Tire Responsibility Policy
Guests are responsible for any flat tires or related damage that occurs during the trip. If a tire replacement is necessary, you must: - Obtain approval before replacing the tire. - Replace it with a tire of equal or greater quality. If the Vehicle is Undriveable: - Contact your host immediately. - Call roadside assistance at +1 (415) 965-4525. If the Vehicle is Drivable: - Notify your host. - Continue your trip, but report the damage through the Turo Damage Reporting Center within 24 hours of the incident. If Involved in an Accident with Another Vehicle: - Record the other driver’s full name, address, and contact information. - Obtain the vehicle’s registration number and insurance provider details. - Take clear photos of the other vehicle and any damage. - Collect contact information from any witnesses. - Provide all involved parties with the Turo Incident Information Card (left in the vehicle).

- If the vehicle is damaged, follow these steps: 1. If the vehicle is undriveable: - Contact your host immediately. - Call roadside assistance at +1 (415) 965-4525 for help. 2. If the vehicle is still drivable: - Notify your host. - Continue your trip, but report the damage through the Turo Damage Reporting Center within 24 hours of the incident. 3. Late Return Policy
- 0-29 minutes late: No charge. - 30 minutes to 1 hour 59 minutes late: Half of the average daily trip price, plus a $50* improper return fee at Turo’s discretion. - 2 hours or more late: One full day’s average daily trip price, plus a $20* late return fee and a $50* improper return fee at Turo’s discretion.
Fuel Policy
Please return the vehicle with the same level of fuel or battery charge as when you picked it up. - Fuel Requirement: This vehicle requires 91 premium fuel only. - Charges for Incomplete Refueling: If the vehicle is not returned with the same fuel or charge level, a refueling cost plus a $10 convenience fee may apply. - Fuel Quality: Please treat the car as your own and use the correct fuel grade to ensure optimal performance.
Guest Cancellation Policy
- 24 Hours Before Trip Start: Free cancellation if canceled at least 24 hours before the trip starts. - Less Than 24 Hours Before Trip Start: Charged for one day’s trip price. - For Trips 2 Days or Less: If canceled after the trip starts, no refund is provided. - For Trips 3 Days or More: You’ll be charged for two days of the trip price if canceled after the trip starts.
Eating Policy
Eating is allowed inside the vehicle. Please be careful to avoid spills and keep the car as clean as possible. We recommend ventilating the car while transporting or consuming food to minimize any food odors.
