The main benefit of utilizing Turo to rent a vehicle is that it’s supposed to make the rental car pickup process extremely efficient and that you know the exact vehicle that you’ll be getting. Our pickup process with the host was very frustrating as they did not tell us the exact location of the vehicle at an airport parking lot…
We were told by the host that they would message us the exact location of the vehicle along with photos of its location so that it would make our pick up process at the airport go quickly …. But they never ended up sending us the location, photos, etc at all. After we landed, I messaged them to tell them we arrived and were waiting for a shuttle to the Turo parking lot, and asked the host to send me the vehicle’s location. They didn’t respond. Twenty minutes later after we arrived at the Turo parking lot, I messaged them again asking for the vehicle’s location and details, but they did not message me back. I finally just started walking around the Turo parking lot looking for the van, and eventually found it (and it was unlocked), but had no idea where the key fab was (and was never given details of its location either).
The vehicle was in decent condition and functioned properly.
Overall, my primary concern was the inefficient pick up process and lack of communication regarding the vehicle pick up. I’ve used Turo multiple times while traveling and have never had an issue until this experience. Hopefully the host can improve their pick up process for their customers moving forward.
