Description

2022 Updated Guidelines Tell me your trip plan. I already know your name, what times you selected, and which car you want, so write useful things instead. Your booking request should say why you chose the particular car, how many seats you need, how much cargo, where you're going, how you plan to arrive on time for pickup, whether you know how to drive manual, maybe even what kind of cars you like in general. The suitability of a car differs whether you're riding with family, shooting a music video, in a wedding, on a date, going for a fun drive. If your selected car doesn't come back from its previous trip, I need to know what other options would work for you. If I'm unaware that you're flying in, I might cancel your trip if you're delayed in the air and unresponsive. I love helping my customers have fun and memorable experiences with my cars, so help me out by telling me what you're doing. Most customers can stop reading now, but the difficult customers should continue. If you don't want to tell me your trip plan or there's an issue with it, I can't directly ask you to cancel. But remember that if I don't tell you everything looks good with your trip, Turo lets me cancel a few trips free of charge right up to the start of the booking. In fact, the way we're graded on approval rate, cancellation rate, response time, and ratings makes it better for me to approve and cancel some trips than decline them from the start, so that should answer your question, "Why did you approve my trip if you weren't sure it would work?" With any peer-to-peer service, it's always important to be in agreement with your service provider. An attitude of "The app promises me you will..." will only teach you that the app can't really make anyone do anything. This is true whether you're doing car-share, ride-share, home-share, food delivery, etc. The apps make promises to both parties that the app has no way of delivering on and the consequences for failing to deliver are often too low. A verbal guarantee from a reputable person is worth more than a guarantee from a sharing economy app. I'm one of the oldest and most loyal Turo hosts because it's a great company and always improving. We want you to be a repeat customer, so do your part in communicating, letting me know how I can help you, being flexible within reason, and helping out the Turo community. Read my reviews to get a sense of what to expect, and know that the last-minute cancellations you see might be people who tested my personal guidelines compliance policy. :) VEHICLE SPECIFIC DETAILS: The Sienna Limited AWD is the most luxurious minivan you can get. The second row lounge seating and wide screen entertainment center make it limo-grade. And Siennas are known for being big enough to lay 4x8 construction material flat in the interior, although this van is not for commercial use. Still, maybe I should throw a mattress in it and list it on AirBnB as well! This car uses the EZ-Pass transponder number 02104126217. Turo suggests confirming the transponder number before your trip.

Faqs

  • Why are you so strict about arrival time?

One of the biggest operating costs of Turo is meeting renters. Some renters make it very easy, others are difficult. I rent to everyone, don't discriminate based on any perception of how difficult a renter will be to serve. That's only possible if I can charge for inconvenience, damage, smoking, etc. By insisting on promptness, I get high quality renters who are successful in life because they make things easy for everyone they interact with. And you get clean, well-maintained cars, promptly at your scheduled pickup time. It beats waiting at the rental counter at Hertz.

The van was as expected and the pickup/dropoff was easy and fast. Considering the van's age, it was in good shape and worked well! No problems with it at all.

Friendly and amazing experience.
Thanks Charvak.

Vicky

This was my first time with TURO and Charvak was so nice and accommodating. I had no problems with the car. The car was clean and comfortable. We were traveling with a large group of people and his minivan saved our vacation. He was very reliable and always just a message away if anything happened. We will definitely be booking with him again in Boston.
