Accounts Payable Specialist

<p>Turo is looking for an experienced&nbsp;Accounts Payable professional to join our accounting team.&nbsp; As our first dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist, you will manage the entire Accounts Payable process for a rapidly growing company. We are looking for someone who is highly analytical, meticulous and comfortable juggling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. You should be passionate about instituting best practices, creating efficiency, and constantly improving our tools, systems, and processes. Above all, you must be an effective and tactful communicator who can get results from busy teams and individuals to keep processes moving and deadlines met.&nbsp;</p> <p><br><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own full cycle Accounts Payable process which includes reviewing invoices for proper documentation, obtaining approval, and processing invoices to NetSuite</li> <li>Review and approve employee expense reports in Concur in accordance with company travel and expense policy guidelines</li> <li>Work with accounting and finance departments to ensure correct account coding and proper expense classification</li> <li>Take the lead on identifying discrepancies and resolving billing issues, reviewing contracts for vendor payment terms, and ensuring accuracy in NetSuite</li> <li>Prepare and process weekly payments to all vendors and maintain the accuracy of the vendor payment information in the NetSuite payment manager</li> <li>Reconcile account vendor statements and past due invoices</li> <li>1099 preparation and filing</li> <li>Assist in monthly, quarterly and year end accounting activities including supporting audit PBC requests and external reporting requirements</li> <li>Identify and implement processes that will allow the AP function to scale as we grow globally with an emphasis on best practices and strong internal controls</li> <li>Participate in the monthly closing process, including the reconciliation of the accounts payable subledger and validation of accruals</li> <li>Serve as lead on system implementation or enhancement projects impacting procure to pay cycle</li> <li>Participate and lead ad hoc projects and other responsibilities, as assigned</li> </ul> <p><strong>Basic Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Business</li> <li>Minimum 5 years’ experience of full cycle high volume accounts payable experience</li> </ul> <p><strong>Skills:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience working in a fast-paced and high-volume environment preferably in the tech industry</li> <li>Experience with NetSuite or another large-scale accounting system</li> <li>Solid understanding of Accounts Payable processes, policies, and best practices</li> <li>Experience with vendor management and processing 1099’s</li> <li>Experience with Concur preferable&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience with Coupa preferable</li> <li>Global/international experience desired</li> <li>Understanding of basic accounting, including preparation of journal entries, expense accruals, prepaid expenses, and completion of general ledger account reconciliations</li> <li>Proficiency with excel</li> </ul> <p><strong>Personality Traits:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Works independently with a sense of urgency and be able to meet deadlines by prioritizing tasks</li> <li>Ability to communicate clearly and professionally to all levels of the company and with external vendors</li> <li>Excellent internal and external customer service skills</li> <li>Team player with excellent time management and organizational skills</li> <li>Exceptional attention to detail</li> <li>Reliable and self-motivated</li> <li>Strong problem-solving skills</li> </ul> <p><strong>Benefits</strong></p> <ul> <li>Competitive salary and equity for all full-time employees</li> <li>Employer paid medical, dental, and vision insurance</li> <li>Generous paid time off, paid holidays, paid volunteer time off, and paid parental leave</li> <li>Weekly catered lunch with a fully-stocked kitchen</li> <li>Company-sponsored happy hours and team events</li> <li>Turo host matching and vehicle reimbursement program</li> <li>Turo travel credit every month</li> </ul> <p><strong>About Turo</strong></p> <p>Turo is the world’s largest car sharing marketplace where you can book any car you want, wherever you want it, from a vibrant community of trusted hosts across the US, Canada, and the UK.
