There’s definitely some things to be improved upon. This is a new inexperienced renter who hasn’t really ironed out all his wrinkles. It’s a nice newer vehicle, but it’s overpriced more than some luxury cars. He even asked me my opinion of the cost. I only needed the vehicle for one day, so when I noticed the smell in it after picking it up, I didn’t pay it much mind - I had somewhere to be for the holiday. He was late for my requested pickup time, but he did let me know, so I took my time, and he still only arrived into his driveway moments before I got there. I requested a two hour extension for the drop off, only because I didn’t want to be late; I thought I might be 30 mins or so late. I let him know. The Turo app calendar allowed the extension, showing the vehicle was not rented out. Instead of being truthful, he told me the car was rented out for 730 so I would have to be there at 7. No problem, I brought the car back and gassed it up to his preference as well. He expressed some type of issue with his father, it sounds to me like maybe his dad paid for the vehicle or has a vested interest in control of the vehicle - I could foresee issues arising from that. A day later, he tried to bill me for extra cleaning fees. During the time in which he said his car was rented out after mine. So he lied about it being rented because he didn’t want to extend the rental 2 hours for free, or something like that. And then also tried to get more money for his overpriced rental by blaming me for a mess that was present before I even got into the vehicle. It wasn’t a pleasant experience for me, but I hope he will improve his services to be better for others in the future. I’ll also note, his main concern just seemed to be about making the money, rather than providing good customer service.
