READ THIS BEFORE YOU GET SCAMMED: after renting exotics over 7+ times in the past 2 years, I know what to expect. This guy Jonathan is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had and now I have to fight for my money back. Hear this out: 1) FRAUD PRICING: on his listing, he mentioned the price was $749 a day. After I booked, he messages me hours later saying there is a $200 fee extra for tax and fees. I said, “no, this is not what you listed.” He then argued and said ”that’s how it is” but I KNOW it’s not. So after back and forth, he ended up waiving the fee. The whole reason I went for his car because it was $750 vs $950 others were charging. He is simply locking you in since there aren’t refunds within 24 hours of booking and cornering you to pay the fee. 2) SCAMMED ME. So to explain the sequence of the above, I booked the car on July 2nd at 8pm for a pickup the next morning at July 3rd at 9am. After discussion back and forth that night; he confirmed at 8am the next morning the fees are waived, gas tank is full, and I can come pick up the car. (Text messages for proof). As I’m booking an Uber to go to the pickup, I notice the location is now 10 miles away vs .08 which was the reason I even booked the car. I called him, explained the distance inconvenience, and he said he will call me back and see if anyone can drop the car off. 45 minutes pass (it’s now 10 am and my pickup was for 9am) and he goes silent. Doesn’t answer any of my calls, ignores all texts. By 10:30, I’m getting worried. All of a sudden, I get a call from Turo of them asking me why are you arguing with the renter over the deposit” and I clarified I was not. So now the renter is lying so he can keep his fee. They said they will call me back and never did. I called them again at 11am and it turns out he cancelled the booking by saying I was a “no show” and now I’m out $1k and NEVER SAW OR DROVE THE CAR. This guy literally invited me to pickup the car, changed the location, ghosted me, and now I got stuck with the $1000 bill. JONATHAN IS A SCAMMER. He took my booking, claimed I was a no show, and kept my money. The only reason I wanted to try him because he was $200 cheaper with 3 reviews so I wanted to give him a chance. Lesson learned, don’t go for the cheap guy because of nonsense like this. By 1 pm I booked another lambo from Beverly Hills rentals and they dropped it at MY HOTEL by 2 pm. TRUST ME, this business is dirty, tons of scammers, and DO NOT go for the cheap guy with a dump of a reputation. Nw I have to fight with Turo for my money back because of this scammer and it ruined my whole day on my vacation. Do not make the same mistake I did. I will be proceeding with a lawsuit against Turo and the renter if this isn’t resolved within the next few days. DO NOT BOOK THIS RENTER
