Rented this vehicle for my wedding and it was an absolute show stopper.
Amazing car! Definitely a one of a kind in the US, the owner, Ed, is a nice guy who was accommodating and very knowledgeable about his cars and it shows that he takes good car of each one, and this car was immaculate inside and out. Knowing how to drive a manual is a must for this car, and in addition that, you need to be familiar with the metric system since this car was sold in Brazil initially and uses kilometres and litres instead of miles and gallons, respectively. Other than that, I guarantee you’ll have fun driving this car!
This was a super fun car! When we arrived at the hotel and valet’d it, they parked it in front with all the Ferrari’s, Lamborghinis, and G wagons. This car had crowds around it the whole time! More people said they would rather have this car than any of those other fancy cars parked in front of the hotel.
Ed was a really nice host. He explained everything properly. We enjoyed riding this exceptional car!
Amazing car and fantastic host! See you on our first anniversary! Thanks
Amazing. For a 50+ year old car it’s in amazing shape and incredibly reliable. I drove it over 1,000 miles will no major hiccups.
What an amazing evening my wife and I had on an anniversary date and the car really made it even more special and memorable! The whole process was super easy from pickup to drop off. What an incredible family who takes great care in their cars so others can have a great experience. My only warning is this car is a true head turner so be prepared for folks to wave and take pics, I felt like a celebrity.
My daughter turned 16! So it was an awesome car experience for her! She loved it! We just took her to dinner and let her enjoy this classic beetle! It was a fun quick little car. No climate control of course but in great shape! Ed was extremely awesome and easy to work with. I would definitely consider doing business with him again! Thanks again for the memories this time gave my daughter!!
Sweet car. Runs and looks great. Drove my daughter and her boyfriend to senior prom in it and kids came out of the venue to look at it. Ed was a responsive and gracious host. I would absolutely recommend him and this car for special events.
Absolutely the coolest ride for any occasion! Definitely a checked off bucket list item. You won’t find a car like this often. Ed is friendly, knowledgeable and easy to do business with. Just book it already!

No, you don’t need personal insurance coverage to rent a car on Turo.
In the US, any personal insurance you may have that covers damage to the host’s vehicle would kick in before your Turo protection plan. When booking a car in the US, you’ll choose between three protection plans — Premier (eligibility requirements apply), Standard, or Minimum — to get the level of protection that’s right for you. On each trip, you’re covered with third-party automobile liability insurance provided under a policy issued to Turo by Travelers Excess and Surplus Lines Company.*
In New York state, you’ll also choose between Premier (if available), Standard, or Minimum. With each plan, you’re covered with liability insurance of $1,250,000.* Protection plans for New York trips also include access to roadside assistance, priority phone support, and 24/7 customer assistance.
Yes, multiple guests can drive the car you rent on Turo, as long as they are all approved to drive. The primary driver (whoever rented the car) can add additional drivers with no fees or additional charges. Only the primary driver can request to add drivers; Turo hosts cannot do it for you. We encourage you to request to add additional drivers before your trip starts, though guests in the US and Canada can request to add a driver while a trip is in progress.
To speed up the process, have your additional driver create a Turo account and get approved to drive before you request to add them. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license and meet the age requirements for the car you’ve rented. You can request to add drivers via the “Trips” tab in the Turo app without additional driver charges or extra costs.
