Description

I keep my Prius very well maintained and, in classic Prius fashion, it gets great gas mileage. I have a convenient mobile phone holder on the dash so you can safely and easily use your phone's navigation. There’s also a CD player and a Bluetooth audio system that latches onto the car's radio with a USB port (charger cable not included) so you can listen to your favorite tunes and podcasts as you charge your phone on your next road trip or on your daily commute. Feel free to take advantage of my Zone 2 residential parking permit, which lets you park in many DC neighborhoods (Dupont, Georgetown, Adams Morgan, parts of downtown) without having to worry about the 2 hour parking limits. 📡 NEW REMOTE CHECKIN/CHECKOUT FEATURE: I have the capability to remotely lock and unlock my vehicle (with the car key in the car for you to drive it) for your check-in and/or check-out if you are comfortable doing so. Many guests have enjoyed using this feature when renting my car as it is convenient and gives us both flexibility! 🚩 PLEASE NOTE that when using the "Book Instantly" feature, I may request that we utilize this feature if I will not be available in person at your check-in or check-out times.

Parking details

I use street parking with my DC residential parking permit pass, so feel free to park the car anywhere there is a sign that says "2 hour street parking, Zone 1 permit holders excepted." Please look for any street sweeping signs applying to where you park. Whenever you park on the street, kindly fold in the side-view mirror closest to traffic to avoid the mirror being sideswiped. Parking: Do NOT park on 16th Street, as these are not residential Zone 1 spaces and the car could get ticketed/towed. Parking is typically available on Hobart St. or Irving St. (off of Mt. Pleasant St., just north of 16th and Columbia Rd.). If you're having any issues with parking, I am readily available to assist you so please send me a message!

Guidelines

In order to maintain a clean car and pleasant experience for other Turo users, please return the car in the condition in which you found it. Absolutely no smoking, eating messy foods (non-messy foods and drinks are okay), or pets. Feel free to use the mobile phone holder if you are using your phone's navigation. And for your safety and for the longevity of my vehicle, absolutely no texting while driving. If you use street parking during your trip and when you return my vehicle, please fold in the side-view mirror closest to traffic to prevent it from getting knocked off by traffic. If you are parking my car overnight in DC (eg. in Zone 1), please be mindful of any street cleaning signs (otherwise my car could get ticketed or towed).

Faqs

  • Do I need to charge the car or do anything special to operate the hybrid battery?

No, my Prius does everything automatically.

  • Should I drive through EZ Pass lanes without paying or use cash?

My car's license plate is registered with EZ Pass so when you are driving through EZ Pass tolls it will automatically capture my car and charge me. I will then request reimbursement for this amount through Turo. I would recommend NOT paying with cash because there is a risk you will end up paying double (once with cash, and then once if EZ Pass charges me).

  • How do I adjust the radio volume?

Use the volume control on the steering wheel.

  • How do I connect my phone to the Bluetooth audio system?

    1. Turn on on the car radio. 2. Check what radio station appears on the Bluetooth device that is plugged into the outlet below the radio, and then manually turn the radio to that station. 3. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone, and in the Bluetooth settings of your phone connect to KM18 - you should hear a voice saying "Waiting for pairing...paired" (you may need to turn up the volume of the radio). 4. If there is a lot of static, change the station on the Bluetooth device to a different station by pressing the left or right arrows, and then adjust the car radio to the new station you picked.

I did a road trip with my friends and everything went perfectly. Chase has been friendly and extremely helpful since before our departure and of course during the trip but we didn’t have any problem at all. His Toyota Prius is so easy to drive and comfortable, even if we never drove it before. We were able to use our phone as GPS and we were also able to listen to our music with the Bluetooth. His position was perfect for us cause we live close to downtown DC! Thank you Chase!
