We put great Michelin Alpin winter tires on this car as of November 15, which means if you are looking to test drive a Boxster/Cayman or maybe compare it to a 911, and everything around has summer tires, you can rent this car and really give it a good test drive and feel safe in cold temps in the morning, and if it warms up during the day you won’t notice the difference. When it's cold, think of it as a soft-top Cayman! This is the only Porsche Boxster GTS on Turo in the Metropolitan Washington/Baltimore region. Our 2016 car is part of the 981 generation, meaning it has the great-sounding, high-revving, six-cylinder engine, as opposed to the turbocharged four-cylinder on the 718/982 models which was released starting in 2017. There are not many GTS cars around. There are a couple of other Boxsters on Turo, but if you want the impeccable driving experience of the GTS version, this is the only one in our region (and worth the small premium per day). It's quite different from a base Boxster, night and day. Our car is White with Black and Alacantra interior, with silver accent stitching and instrument dials. It is well equipped with many key options, including the Sport Chrono package (so it has both Sport and Sport Plus), PASM suspension, Bose surround sound system, 18-way heated sport seats, navigation, headlights that track with the steering, carbon fiber trim, Sport Exhaust, and the Sport Design steering wheel with the better paddle shifters (+ on the right and – on the left, unlike the regular Porsche wheel with the shifting buttons that can go each way on each side). This is the top-of-the-line Boxster of this model year with 330 HP. Whether you are planning a weekend in VA wine country, driving Skyline Drive, renting a cabin in West Virginia, thinking about buying a mid-engine Boxster/Cayman and want to take a longer test drive, or just want to head out with the top down and enjoy the drive, this is a great car to enjoy the open road! Some other details: The Porsche audio systems of this generation can be finicky, where Bluetooth works for your phone but not always for streaming music. There is an AUX/USB input in the glove box and you can rent a cable and a phone mount for $5/day. (There’s no good place in Porsches to stick your phone, so the mount helps.) There’s a prepaid fuel option and unlimited miles payable on a per-day basis. This is a special car; I expect it to be brought back in the same condition it leaves. The Porsche Boxster GTS is available for long-term rental. Premium gas only (keep receipts), no pets (the Alacantra seats are magnets for pet hair), no smoking, no track use or super-aggressive driving. We want people to enjoy our cars and we don’t ask that you baby them, but we do ask you treat them with respect and as if they were your own personal vehicles. (Actually, BETTER than your own personal vehicles!) Most of our Turo are unique in this market.
