Come rent what might be the perfect city Turo car from a centrally-located Power Host. Our cars aren't way out in Reston or Herndon or Springfield or College Park or Upper Marlboro (not that there's anything wrong with those places) -- we are located right in DC, right between Georgetown and the National Cathedral. Easy pickup, easy drop-off, from a host wit over 1,400 five-star reviews. Apple Car Play recently added! We purchased a screen that plugs in the cigarette adapter and provides seamless Apple Car Play to those who want it! The Turo niche for Hamond's Hot Wheels is unique, one-of-a-kind, hard-to-find cars, like our Boxster S or BMW E46 M3 or Golf R or Subaru WRX. We don’t rent out Teslas, for example. There are too many of them. You might say, “What’s so unique about this Clubman?” It’s a fair question. It’s the only Clubman or Countryman on Turo in our region in Pepper White with black stripes, which I think is a classic look, and it’s Mini certified (and super-low miles – this car is going on Turo with less than 5,000 miles even though it’s a 2020 because the prior owner drove only 2,300 miles a year). It’s basically like renting a brand-new car for a used-car price. This is my sixth mini. I had a Pepper White regular Mini coupe about 10 years ago, and a red Countryman before they updated all the electronics on the inside with the mood lights and touchscreens and made them super cool. Minis are great Turo cars -- fun to drive, great to rent for a long weekend if you live int he city and don't own a car, great for a long-term booking because they are affordable, etc. As I look over my mini-fleet and think about the needs of Turo guests living or visiting the DMV, here’s why I think the Clubman S is the perfect Turo car: • Unlike smaller hatchbacks, this car has real room in the back seat for friends or family, so everyone can be comfortable. Also unlike smaller cars, it has a real “boot” in the back for luggage or gear or Costco runs. You can fit your friends/family AND their luggage, so it’s great from a practicality point of view. • It’s got style and panache. There’s something about Minis that just makes you feel good when you look at them. They’re cool. And they have great design on the inside, with ambient lighting you can change with a switch according to your mood. This car has the upgraded Harmon-Kardon sound system, too. • They are super-fun to drive, even though it’s not a high-powered sports car. That’s something Mini is known for. And compared to a Countryman, for example, since the Clubman is a wagon and sits a little lower to the road, it feels just a bit more sporty when you want to drive around the curves. Remember, this is the ALL4 version, so it’s got all-wheel drive for great traction on wet or slippery roads. And it has a few other features I really like, such as the LED headlights and automatic rain-sensing wipers. • No matter what kind of trip you have planned, this is a great car. It’s good in the city because it’s easy to get around and easy to park. It’s good for a road trip because it gets great gas mileage. (The 2020 Clubman S ALL4 gets 23 mpg in the city and 32 on the highway, so you’ll probably average around 27 mpg. That’s better than some hybrids!) It’s good for a long-term rental because it’s not expensive and we offer generous discounts on long-trips. And you get all that in a fun-to-drive car with great styling and pep. Here is Car and Driver’s very positive review of the 2020 Mini Cooper Clubman S: https://www.caranddriver.com/mini/cooper-clubman-s-2020. I am a Power Host with 1,500 five-star reviews and you don’t have to worry about last-minute trip cancellations with me. Also, unlike other hosts who list lots of specific “rules,” many of which are against Turo Terms of Service and can’t be enforced anyway, I have very few rules: Don’t smoke, treat the car well, keep it clean, and have fun but don’t be super-aggressive or treat it like a race car. I will allow pets for a small fee if you notify me ahead of time AND clean up COMPLETELY at the end of your trip. No pet hair left over. This car is normally equipped with an EZ Pass transponder from Virginia, number 5694833. Thanks again for looking at our Clubman S in Pepper White!
