• How do I open the trunk or frunk? How do I put the Tesla into Park?

  Make sure the vehicle is in *Park* To open the rear trunk, ensure Model 3 is in Park, then do one of the following: Touch the associated Open button on the touchscreen. Double-click the rear trunk button on the key fob. Touch the rear trunk button on the mobile app. Press the switch located under the rear trunk's exterior handle (a valid key must be detected). **************************************************************************************************************** How do you shift a Tesla to park? Press the end of the drive stalk while Model 3 is stopped. Arrow pointing to button at end of stalk Model 3 automatically shifts into Park whenever you connect a charge cable or if two or more of the following conditions are met simultaneously while traveling slower than approximately 2 km/h: The driver's seat belt is unbuckled. The occupancy sensor in the driver's seat does not detect an occupant. The driver's door is opened. Attempting to engage the parking brake above 8 km/h will result in emergency braking (see Emergency Braking). To make it convenient to pick up passengers, you can also unlock all doors at any time by shifting into Park then pressing the Park button a second time.

• What is chill mode?

  As noted throughout the listing for the safety of our guests the vehicle’s speed is limited to 90 mph and set to chill mode. There are visible warnings and audible alerts when approaching this limit. Chill: limits acceleration for a smooth and gentle ride.

• My flight arrived early can I pick up the vehicle early??

  Yes you however you must modify the Trip start time within the Turo app. Note we are unable to make changes to your trip start and end times.

• How do I extend my trip!

  It’s very easy just press the trip modify button in the app! Your request will then be submitted to us for review!!

• How do I get to the car at Tampa Economy Parking??

• I’m running late or behind. What should I do and who do I notify.

  Please message us to keep us informed if you are running behind or late for your scheduled drop off time. We encourage guests to extend their trip if need be.

• Can I charge at non Tesla charging locations? Such as Charge Pointe or EV Go etc. How does it work? Will I need an adapter?

  Yes you can but it may not be the fastest charging experience. Hotel chargers typically are what is referred to as Level 2 thus NOT superchargers. As result your charging experience will be much longer than a Tesla Super Charger. We are not responsible for delayed charging times or the failure of 3rd party equipment. If you would like to use CCS charging equipment such as that offered by Electrify America, Charge Point or EV Go please contact us prior to vehicle pickup. As we have an adapter that is necessary and available for a fee $15 for a J1772 adapter an additional fee if requested after trip start. If not returned a $65 fee will be imposed. CCS combo adapter is $65 and $90 fee if not returned. Again we strongly recommend the Tesla Super Charging Stations as they are the easiest and most reliable and available Super charging stations.

• I’m traveling long distances how do I handle charging?

  If you plan on traveling for example 50 miles or greater in one direction plan your trip accordingly keeping in mind the time needed to charge on average 30-55 minutes as well as where your next charging station is located The navigation system will estimate how much charge you will have left. Again this is an estimate and will vary higher speeds on the interstate will deplete the battery range faster.

• Where do I return the vehicle??

  You return the vehicle to same location as you picked it up. Unless you’ve contacted us for drop location change and we’ve approved it. Please remember to obtain the parking ticket from the garage and leave inside the vehicle for us or the next guest. Unless we have prepaid the parking fee. Again all parking fees are the guest responsibility and will be charged at the end of your trip.

• Are there fees if I let the vehicle’s battery drain to 0%??

  Yes Guest is responsible for any towing fees if necessary as well as any damage to the vehicle’s charging, electrical equipment and or internal battery and components. Should guest allow the vehicle to reach a low state of charge any and all associated costs for charging will be the guest responsibility including emergency charging trucks brought to the vehicle’s location. Again plan your trips accordingly.

• Are there Non Airport locations available for pickup and drop off???

  Yes we have other locations. You can pick up in one location and return the vehicle to another! We also have a drop off location next door to Tampa Airport where you can enjoy some great dinning locations and shopping! By doing so you can save $$ on Airport Parking fees. Check out Tampa International Mall Bay Street Plaza! If you are staying at one of the hotels within a (2) mile radius let us know as we can deliver the vehicle to that location. ** Guest are responsible for any hotel parking or charging fees******

• Does my existing Tesla profile work on this vehicle? Can I use the Tesla App

  NO it will not. You can not use the Tesla app. You will be provided with the Tesla key card in accordance with Turo guidelines.

• Who pays for parking fees at the Airport.

  Guest are responsible for all parking fees including when delivery is provided (IE Airport) unless paid for in advance. This includes both delivery to the airport and return of the vehicle at the conclusion of the trip. Maximum fee PER day is $18 for each day (Drop off and pick up). The Airport charges for every 20 minutes up (4) hours there after the max daily rate of $18 is charged regardless. Either a SunPass is located on the windshield, Parking ticket or QR code upon vehicle pickup will be left in the vehicle. When exiting or entering the parking garage use the Sun Pass lanes All parking charges will be billed after your trip ends. Please take a picture of the vehicle’s exact parking spot (Exact floor, aisle, and parking color) add to the trip photos section of the Turo app when returning the vehicle.

• How often should I charge the battery?

  Once the vehicle is at 10-15%it is recommended to recharge. Please plan your trips accordingly especially for long trips. The battery percentage shown is an estimate and not exact. It will vary with driving conditions, vehicle settings, as well as speed.

• How do I charge the Vehicle? How often?

  Utilize the various Tesla Super Charger stations preferably as they are typically the fastest and most reliable. Vehicle will direct you to the nearest location depending on your travel plans. This process is the fastest and most reliable network and helps keep our guests moving! Keep in mind the battery is still being used when the vehicle is parked so your distance per charge will vary based upon how you drive and settings chosen. Average charging times may vary. Again utilize the Tesla Supercharging Stations for the most optimal experience and fastest charging times. Frequency of charging will vary based upon distance driven and speeds and other factors. You can adjust the amount of charge by sliding the button to your desired amount IE 80% up 100% as needed be.

• Will the vehicle come fully charged?

  Vehicle will be delivered with at least 80% of charge. Sometimes greater depending on the situation and time constraints from other guests.

• Can someone else other than the Primary driver operate the vehicle? See below for specific Turo requirements.

  Guests can add drivers to a trip only with Turo’s approval. Additional drivers must meet eligibility requirements before they can be approved to drive. ******Hosts can not approve additional Drivers***** Guests and additional drivers The guest who booked the trip in your vehicle is the primary driver. Someone else who’s been approved to drive on the trip is an additional driver. Additional drivers must meet our eligibility requirements, have their own Turo account, and successfully pass Turo’s verification process to be approved as a driver. Guests can request to add up to eight additional drivers. We’ll notify you when we approve an additional driver and display that driver’s name on the Details page of the trip. The primary guest must be the one to pick up and return your vehicle. Don’t give your vehicle to anyone who’s not listed as the trip’s primary driver. The primary driver is financially responsible for anything that happens during the trip. That includes any incidents, damage, or violations caused by their additional driver. Allowing others to operate the vehicle whom are not authorized and approved by Turo is a violation of the Turo Terms and Conditions and protection plans where selected.

• I declined all insurance protection plans because I have personal Insurance.

  What happens if you decline a Turo protection plan? You'll be responsible for all costs related to physical, mechanical, and interior damage to the vehicle 100% You'll be responsible for administrative claims fees and appraisal costs. Please contact your insurance carrier to make sure they actually coverage peer to peer car sharing for your protection. Turo sends reminders to purchase this important coverage multiple times prior to your trip start time so please review carefully.
