Description

The Chevrolet Malibu mid-size sedan was redesigned in 2013, and quickly refreshed just a year later, but still falls shy of the standards for room, performance and fuel economy set by competitors. This year's changes are few including an OnStar system offering 4G LTE connectivity with the ability to create an in-car WiFi network. Engines remain the same as last year. The base 2.5-liter four-cylinder mill produces 196 horsepower and keeps fuel economy in check thanks to a six-speed automatic transmission and stop-start technology. A more powerful turbocharged engine makes 259 horsepower.

The car was conveniently available as requested. Very responsive host, with immediate replies. We experienced no issues the entire time, and would rent again if in area.

There was a bit of confusion at first. Automated messages told us the car was at the wrong airport in the economy lot. I assumed it was a typo and walked to the economy lot at our airport, almost a half mile walk. The car was not there. Later we were told that the car was on its way. I asked Claudio if the car can be dropped off at the end of the terminal where we were waiting and I was told yes. An hour later, I had to contact Turo because all other communications stopped. They told me that the car was there. We walked to another parking lot and found the car. No one had bothered to tell us that it had already been delivered. The car was clean and drove well. It smelled like someone had emptied most of a can of air freshener inside. Two of the tires were low on air and the check engine light was on, but it didn't seem to affect the performance. On the last day of our trip, I tried to contact Claudio to see where to leave the car and I received another automated message telling me to leave it at the wrong airport. I left it where we found it and sent a message saying so. After we got home, I received a message saying something about don't worry it's automated. I wasn't sure how to respond so I didn't. Could definitely use better communication. When we are standing outside the airport in a town that we are unfamiliar with, tired and hungry, and can't get ahold of the person who we are supposed to be getting a car from, it doesn't really start our vacation off on the right foot.
