Description

Price is automatically determined by Turo by their algorithm. Change everything you know about cars! Here's why driving a smart Tesla model 3 makes a lot of sense (free downtown State College pickup and guest parking available under some conditions. See below): ======== Have fun with the Tesla ========= * Enjoy the thrill of acceleration! The instant torque is unlike any gas car you've driven before. Every renter so far are absolutely amazed with the car! Look at reviews. * Awesome handling and low center of gravity. Extremely fun to drive. * We have the Full-self driving (FSD) package. Can't really full self drive so far but it now recognizes red lights and stop signs. Pretty amazing to watch it mature gradually. * 0-60mph in 4.8s after recent over-the-air updates. * Tesla-offered snow tires! * Save on fuel! Charging fees much cheaper than gas. * Auto-pilot greatly reduces fatigue for long trips or stop-n-go traffic * Much safer ride on a smart car: Automatic emergency braking, Collision Avoidance Assist, Side impact warning, 8 sensors, and fast response * 310 miles of range. Tesla superchargers in every direction you go! Travel around US solely on superchargers (https://www.tesla.com/supercharger) * 17-in screen for LTE navigation, music streaming and infotainment. Have fun with Tesla-type Easter eggs and Atari games. * Lastly but importantly, ZERO EMISSION for your trip! ======== Convenience we offer =========== * Parking of guest's car: avoid the need for a companion during pickup and return --> Free at 3048 Enterprise Dr during the day for 1-day trips --> Parking for longer trips at our place is offered at a small, nominal fee ($2 per night) * Delivery to guest door in State College is $5 when we can manage it ======== Delivery details ================= * Default home location is 3048 Enteprise Dr, State College * Mon-Fri 9-5 is also FREE delivery to USPS Fraser street parking lot. * Sat-Sun, home location pickup is free. Delivery to places other than home location on is available for a $5 fee. ======== Must-read safety tips ============= * Be careful on wet and icy roads. Do not strongly accelerate the car while making a turn. * Auto-pilot is awesome but not perfect yet. Absolutely keep your eyes on the road and hands on wheels. Take this trip as a learning experience and feel it gradually. * Autopilot WILL stop behind other cars and pull forward when there is space. It will NOT stop for Stop signs or Traffic lights. * Insurance card and a registration copy are in the center console, under the wireless phone charger. * Be mindful of your range. In hilly areas, cold weather and rainy days you need to apply some buffer. If all these factors are present, use even 30%-40% buffer. * Be careful with curbs. These wheels protrude outside the tires * Parking roadside overnight in big cities: get your valuables out & pull down the back seat (so thieves can see there is nothing worth taking inside the trunk). We've heard incidents where the rear triangular windows were broken. Avoid ruining your trip! ======== Charging details ================= * With pre-paid EV charge, you are allowed to use supercharging at will (need to move the car from the charger when it's full) and return the car at any battery level. * If you do not purchase pre-paid EV cost, you can still use superchargers. Tesla charges directly to my credit card. The supercharge fees used during the trip as well as the cost to bring battery back to its original level will be sought after trip, as a reimbursement. * Turo standard recharging rate is $10 when returned 50%-80% battery, $20 for 30-50%, and $50 for 0-30%. Parking details

Default location is 3048 Enterprise Dr parking lot. You see the big 3048 number just as you see on the first profile picture. Mon-Fri only, we do free delivery and reception at Fraser USPS parking lot upon request (237 S Fraser St, State College, PA 16801). Guidelines

================ mutual agreement ========= * According to standard Turo service agreement, the primary guest carries the primary liability during the rental period for damages to third parties and to the car itself. * Do NOT charge over 90% of the battery * Absolutely No smoking and No drug use in the vehicle. We will pursue penalty to those who cause smoke odor. * Return the car in essentially the same condition as when picked up. We're not out here to get you but notable trashing and damage will incur cleaning, de-odor and repair fees. * As Turo would strongly request, inspect the car, take good pictures of the car and upload to Turo before you take delivery. * Use our wireless cell charger and dashcam USB as a convenience. Do not remove them.

Faqs

  • How do I charge your electric car

    (1) Cheapest: charge at home/hotel with 240V (medium speed) or 110V (slow); (2) Fastest: use Tesla supercharger network (it will charges my credit card and I will get reimbursement from you after trip); (3) Find destination chargers using PlugShare. Supercharging is fastest when your battery is low. When battery level is above 75% it gets slower to charge.

  • Could I take the Tesla-estimated battery range seriously?

It depends. According to our experience, in flat areas like in the happy valley or near Washington, DC, the estimate is pretty accurate, within ~5% error. However, when you are driving in the hilly area outside of State College, or in a cold weather, or in a rain, the range will be influenced. When all these factors are present, which is not uncommon here, you need to give ~30% buffer for the part of trip in PA. So stop for superchargers accordingly!

  • What if I am running low on battery and am far from a supercharger?

With some planning, you can and should easily avoid this situation, but if you are in one: (i) Keep your speed below 60 mph (or 50 mph in more extreme cases). In fact, slower speeds give you more range. Fluid mechanics 101: Wind drag is proportional to velocity squared. (ii) Turn of heating and fans, disconnect wireless phone charger to conserve range; (iii) Avoid strong acceleration; (iv) use PlugShare to find "slow" chargers.

Love the car very much , just smelled a little odd the whole time . If I let it sit you could smell like someone smoked in it . Told the ppl who had gave me the car not sure how much they cared though

Ev's response

Hi Shawn. Thank you for your feedback. However, the information doesn't seem accurate. We are nonsmokers and there appeared to be a smell only AFTER your trip. We charged you a smoking fee and you accepted it, and we deodorize the car. We happen to also have evidence to suggest there was no odor before your trip. It's now settled and we were able to completely remove the odor. After some work, there is no more scent, so we do not want to escalate this further. Have a nice day.
