Guidelines

Unlock - When you initially arrive I will remotely unlock the door with my phone app, please notify me when you’re there. After that you can use the Tesla key card (black credit card looking thing) to lock/unlock and to start the vehicle. ALWAYS keep this card with you during the trip and leave this in the middle console when the trip is completed. Start - place the card flat directly behind cup holders to allow the car to be put in Drive. You can move the card after this. Drive - the gears are all managed through the right hand stalk. Push the entire stalk all the way down (with foot on brake) to put in Drive. Lift up for Reverse. For Park you will push the button at the end of the stalk. Fast Charging - the most convenient option (and by far the fastest) is to use the Supercharging network. Put your destination in the GPS and the car will suggest which one to use. When you arrive simply back into an open spot, push the button on the charging cable to open the charging port door, and insert into the port. All charges will go on my credit card and will be invoiced after the trip ends. Slow charging - if you’ll have the car parked overnight and close to a standard plug, you can use the cables in the front trunk for trickle charging if you’d like. You’ll get about 40-50 miles overnight. There are also some other medium speed options through 3rd party networks you may be able to use with the adapter kept in the middle console. Battery - VERY IMPORTANT. Always aim to keep the battery between 10-90% charged (30-285 in miles). This is to avoid any damage to the battery and also to make sure you have enough charge to reach an EV charging spot. You do not want to run out of battery bc that would require a tow truck and a lot of additional expenses. The GPS will warn you if you don’t have enough charge to reach your destination. To play it safe, always aim to reach your charging destination with 20% battery (60 miles). Remember faster driving or climbing elevation also means much faster battery depletion so this is something you’ll want to monitor as the car adjusts to your driving habits. Parking - please be aware that the wheels on Model 3’s stick out slightly beyond the tire sidewall, this makes curbing the wheel very easy to do if you’re not paying attention. The cameras are your friend! Reminder - absolutely NO SMOKING or VAPING in or around the car, any residual smoke smell post-rental will result in the guest being charged for smoke removal fees.

Faqs

  • How do I charge?

When you're on the go, use the GPS to find the closest Supercharger. All charges will be collected and invoiced after the trip concludes. If you are parking overnight and have access to a 120/240V outlet, there is a charger in the front truck for charging as well (much slower than Supercharger).

  • How to I unlock, lock, and start the car?

The black Tesla card (credit card shape), will be your key for the entire trip. Always keep this with you to unlock and lock the car. To put the car in Drive, you must place the key flat behind the cup holders. It can be safely moved after the car has initially started.
