Fees for lost items • Key card ($50 replacement fee) • J-1772 adapter ($200 replacement fee) • Corded mobile connector ($800 replacement fee) Renter will be responsible for any loss or damages incurred during rental

Faqs

  • At what level of charge should I return the vehicle?

You are responsible for charging the car during your trip and returning it back with at least 250 miles or 80% charge, or there will be a $50 recharge fee. You can avoid this by buying a prepaid recharging add-on before the start of your trip and return the car with at least 60 miles or 20% charge on it. IF YOU HAVE PRE-PAID THE RECHARGE FEE AT THE START OF YOUR TRIP: Please bring the car back with at least 60 miles or 20% charge. If the car is returned with less than 60 miles or 20% charge, after prepaying the recharging add-on at the start of your trip, this will also result in a $50 recharge fee.

  • Can I machine wash the car?

No. This car MUST be taken to a hand-wash center or touchless NON-machine wash car wash. It cannot be run through a machine, as that can damage the sensors and cameras.

  • Should I charge the car to 100% during usage?

Unless going on a long road journey, the battery should not be charged past 80% for regular daily driving. There is no need to charge to 100% and doing so will make the car less efficient.

  • How do I plug in the car?

Video Tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cR-EbAM5DcE • Tip: Once you insert the charge hose into the car port, the “T” light will go to a green color, indicating that it’s charging. To stop charging, and take out the hose, press and hold the top button on the charge hose, wait for the light to change from green to white, and pull out the charge hose from the car charge port. • When the car is plugged in and charging, you can check the center monitor inside the car for charging status.

  • How do I charge the car at Tesla charging station?

All Tesla charging stations (supercharger or slower wall charger) are free for this vehicle. Though, there is a fine/fee if you overstay past your charge completion at superchargers. (Please see Fines and Fees section below). • Tesla charging does not require any adapter, nor any extra cables. Just plug in the hose from the Tesla station charger straight into the car charging port. Tesla charging stations are found when searching for charging stations on the car’s map (red lightning bolts). One of the most available and close Tesla Supercharging stations, close to San Francisco, is in Daly City. The cars map can also provide you a general sense of how available the station is at the time you are checking as well. • Supercharger stations are the quickest way to charge your Tesla and are located conveniently on well-traveled routes and in dense urban areas. On a V3 supercharger, you can charge your Tesla to 80% in about 30 minutes. • https://www.tesla.com/support/supercharging • https://www.tesla.com/destination-charging • Tip: On the navigation screen, locate the closest red tear drop on the map and touch the tear drop for navigation options. Alternately, press the voice button on the steering wheel, and say, “Find/Navigate (to) nearest charging station.” Then find a station on the map in a convenient location and start navigation. • Tip: If you can find a charge station at each of your destinations, charge whenever you park. This way, you’ll always be replenishing your used energy, and will require less time on your next charge. There are many charging places in the Bay Area.

  • Is charging at Tesla free?

Tesla charging stations are free. You can use either the supercharger (white boxes) or the small grey wall unit, depending on the time you have. If you charge at a supercharging station, and you go past your charge time without unplugging, there will be a Supercharger idle fee assessed by Tesla, which will be passed along to the renter. Charging at a regular (grey) wall unit is unlimited time, and you will not get charged for idle time (assuming there is no sign indicating otherwise). It is up to the renter to obey all posted signs and placards. Owner is not liable for towing and/or ticketing fees or damages. • Tip: To avoid penalties at a Tesla supercharger, simply unplug the vehicle from charging port once the charging is complete.

  • What is a supercharger idle fee?

When charging at a Tesla supercharging station, you must unplug the vehicle to avoid an idle fee, which is assessed for leaving the car plugged in after charging is complete. There is a 5-minute grace period once the supercharger has completed charging, before you have to unplug the vehicle. For each additional minute the car is plugged into the supercharger upon the completion of its charge, renter will incur a $.40/min idle fee. If the supercharger complex is at 50% capacity (e.g. 50% of all the stalls are occupied), the fee will be $.50/min for idle fee. If the supercharger complex is at 100% capacity (e.g. 100% of all the stalls are occupied), the fee will be $1.00/min for idle fee. These are Tesla’s penalty fees, and any penalties assessed will be passed along to the renter.

  • How do I charge the car at a 3rd party station?

Charging electric cars can take some time. Most standard chargers replenish 20-25 miles of driving range per hour. So, if you need to add 200 miles of charge for your next day trip, it would be advised to charge overnight, as it could take 8-10 hours. For a faster charge, Tesla V3 Superchargers, can refill 80% of the battery in 30 minutes. • If you plan on using chargers outside of the Tesla Network, keep the included J-1772 adapter in your car to expand your charging options. You will need to attach the adapter onto the 3rd party charging hose. Please remember to put the adapter back into the car when charging is complete, otherwise there will be a $200 fee for replacement. • 3rd party charging stations can be free, or they can be used for a charge (you may require an app to utilize). Please follow instructions of 3rd party charge stations. • Download and use the Chargepoint app to find and use available charging stations for each of your stops. • Tip: If it is not a familiar process, it is most convenient to charge at Tesla’s charging stations, rather than fiddling with apps and adapters.

  • How do I charge the car at home?

Home charging will take the longest time. Typically, you will be able to charge 5 miles per hour, so 10 hours of charging will only provide 50 miles of charge. • For home charging to a regular 110V outlet, you’ll need the home charger, which is located in the front trunk. Please return it there. There’s a $800 fee for the replacement of the corded mobile connector.

  • Is there a tutorial for first time drivers?

    Yes, https://youtu.be/0GXmqMdY1Ts

  • Does the car need to be cleaned before returning?

Yes, Car needs to be returned in the condition you received it. No eating, drinking, in vehicle. A cleaning fee will be charged if you fail to adhere to the policies. ONLY Touch less and or Hand Wash to clean the exterior.
