Do Not Rent the Porsche!

This Porsche has serious electronic and engine issues. The vehicle appears to have been in an accident or may even be a salvaged car. It idled and ran roughly, feeling like it might stall at any moment. When I asked the owner about the car’s condition, my questions were ignored.

I would also be skeptical of the other reviews, as they may not be entirely genuine.

While the interior was generally acceptable, I did find leftover French fries under the mats and seats—discovered only because the key was hidden in the wrong location.

Rent at your own risk.

DO NOT rent the Porsche. It had multiple mechanical problems and we couldn’t use it. It left us 45min away from the drop point over heating and added so many headaches to the weekend. Turo customer service said they could see in the notes that the previous trip with this car also had mechanical problems. Which tells me Lucas is not spending the money necessary to get it fixed.

Other problems:

The pictures were not accurate. The front right had been side-swiped, and multiple cosmetic items were broken in the car when I picked it up like the drivers side window rollup-down button and the lever to pull the seat forward. The car was filthy dirty (Lucas said it was probably just because we were near the airport - but the wheels were coated in brake dust like it hadn’t been washed in months).

Furthermore, the car was not in the right spot for pick up, I had to walk around to find it in an unmarked gravel parking lot, and he did not meet with me stating that the last guest probably parked the car in the wrong location (note- he did not look at the car after the last guest used it). The host just left the keys in the car with the vehicle unlocked leaving the guest with high risk for the vehicle to be stolen. It is obvious that the host does not treat this Porsche 911 like he cares about it.

When the car overheated he acted like this was weird and had never happened before, but then proceeded to walk me through how I could fix it pretty easily as if he just done it the other day. Everything felt DISHONEST.

The other reviews may be accurate for when they drove the car, but the condition that the car is in RIGHT NOW is not in rental shape. Save yourself the headache and rent somewhere else.

Host is potentially a Scam. Be ware. Vehicle was extremely low on motor oil. Motor oil could be smelt in cabin, needed to be changed. Car coolant light came on 5miles into trip, car was overheating. Host didn’t wash vehicle , exterior extremely dirty. Host was unresponsive to all messages related to vehicle condition and maintenance needs. Do not rent from this host.

Shortly before arriving I was told by the host the previous driver lost the key and I’d have to wait for a key smith to arrive and provide a new one.

Long story short, I’m finally driving the car almost five hours after my scheduled pick up time. (I missed two appointments!). Worse I had to front the money for the key and still have not been reimbursed.

The car itself is nice, but could use some love. The interior was clean, but I felt the need to take the car to a car wash myself to get all of the dirt off.

I’m giving this two stars instead of one because the host seems like a nice guy who inherited a bad situation. But I also acknowledge his job is to make sure the car is ready for the pick up.

Lastly, as someone else pointed out the driver’s window button will snap off if you try to put the window back up. And there’s multiple engine maintenance warnings. There’s also an AirTag tracking the car. I’m assuming it’s the hosts. While I can appreciate keeping an eye on where your car is, I’d like to know ahead of time.
