I will start off by saying that I am giving 2 stars simply because the car drove (although not well) and we were able to make due with the vehicle to get where we wanted to go. Exterior of the car was honestly what I expected with it being a rental, and being one of the cheapest convertibles on the platform in this area. A minor annoyance was the rear windows not going all the way up after putting the soft top back up. (Would have to pull the rear window or the windows would go up with a gap.) but this is a common issue with Mustang convertibles. I’d say the real disappointment was in the first 20 minutes of the trip. The actual pick up is a decent process. However, upon picking up the vehicle I noticed within the first 1/2 mile that the car was pulling excessively to the right, especially when the road was slightly uneven. I brought it straight back to the pickup lot and spoke briefly with one of their co-hosts on the app. He told me the car just recently had an alignment (maybe it was actually an unalignment lol) and to “enjoy San Diego!” Seems like a weird response to a question from a customer concerned about their own safety in YOUR vehicle. I then spoke to one of the co-hosts present at the lot. I expressed my concern and in return was asked “what I want them to do?” I was not looking for a free trip but I was hoping they could do something like lend me a different car, maybe take the car out for a quick drive and see the issue I’m talking about. Instead I was told again that the vehicle just had an alignment…which I find hard to believe. Furthermore, he informed me that they literally have no other cars in their fleet available and could show me he is not lying. I am not a Turo host but I do find it an odd business model to rent out your ENTIRE fleet and have no backup vehicles left in case something goes wrong with anyone of your cars, which looks like a fleet of over 50 cars. He again asked me what I wanted them to do. As your customer I feel like you should be prepared for issues like this and provide me with solutions, not ask me for solutions. Anyways, we had reservations for the next couple days and I did not have time to go and source another rental car. Luckily I was just able to drive the car, although once on the freeway the slight pull to the right turns into a pretty noticeable wobble from the steering wheel. I’d keep an eye on this when renting this car as I’m thinking the recent alignment is obviously not fixing the problem. However, if you want a headache free rental process perhaps look at a different vehicle in their fleet, or a different host altogether.
