Description

Experience the future of driving with this Tesla Model S 85. Even with 8+ years on the road, this ride is still buttery smooth with awe-inspiring torque / acceleration. Charging: This particular car can charge for FREE at Tesla Supercharger stations! Note: Any idle fees will be forwarded to you (setting a timer helps!). Non-Tesla charging stations may charge you for their usage. IMPORTANT IMPORTANT IMPORTANT: This 2014 Model S has ~245 miles range at 100% charge. It takes ~60 minutes to get from 0% to 90%+, where newer Tesla models take ~30 minutes or less. Keep this in mind if you have critical time constraints on your trip. The benefit I offer over newer models is FREE Tesla Supercharging. I want to be upfront so you can decide on the time/value proposition. Delivery: I offer free delivery in the Triangle area. If you're visiting via RDU and your hotel offers a shuttle, you can ask me to deliver the car to your hotel for a smoother delivery experience. Car details: * Free Supercharging (great for short road trips!) * Upgraded infotainment system (stream movies/TV, play games, etc) * 85 kWh Battery (~245 miles at 100% charge) * 5.4 seconds 0-60 mph * 19" Wheels, RWD * Silver Metallic Paint * Piano Black Décor with Black Leather Seats * Autopilot with convenience features (lane-keep and automatic cruise control) Supplemental accessories for your trip: * 2 front/rear USB type A charging ports * Medical kit (for minor injuries) * Glass breaker / seatbelt cutter safety tool * Facial tissues * Air freshener * Fire extinguisher (small) * Sun visor/cover * Reusable grocery bag Discounts: I offer weekly (20%) and monthly (50%) discounts for longer duration trips (you can preview the discount by adjusting your trip length).

Guidelines

Please plan your trip to ensure that the battery never reaches below 15% (anything lower may cause damage to the battery). The trip planner in the Model S will factor in stops to Tesla Supercharger stations along your route to help with planning. Running the battery below 15% (or completely empty) may incur an additional trip fee.

Faqs

  • How do I use Autopilot?

Please note: This 2014 Model S is NOT capable of full self-driving. Autopilot features are limited to: Traffic-aware cruise control and limited lane-keeping on highways and other simple/long roads Autopilot on this 2014 Model S CANNOT see traffic signs or lights, it CANNOT make distinct turns, so therefore it CANNOT take you fully from point A to point B by itself. Always keep your hands on the wheel and be ready to take over at any moment. I've seen the Autopilot lose track of the lanes in various scenarios where I had to take over IMMEDIATELY. Later Tesla models may have full self-driving in the future, but this 2014 Model S just has the standard Autopilot features (traffic-aware cruise control and limited lane-keeping). If you've managed to trudge through all these disclaimers, here's how to enable Autopilot: You'll need to be on a road with clearly marked road lanes in order to enable Autopilot. Locate the second stalk on the left side of the steering wheel (just below the windshield wiper stalk). Pull this stalk towards you twice to enable Autopilot. You will need to occasionally apply force to the steering wheel (very slight, it may take some getting used to) or the Model S will beep with an alarm and eventually turn off Autopilot. To turn off Autopilot, push that same stalk away from you. In an emergency, you can take over the wheel at any time to disable Autopilot (no need to use the stalk method). I can't stress enough that this is not a full self-driving vehicle; please be safe while driving with or without Autopilot!

  • How do I charge at a Tesla Supercharging station?

The charge port is located on the driver-side tail light (for clarity: not the rear, but the side of the vehicle). Please safely back into a Supercharger parking spot and pull the Supercharger cable towards the charge port. The cable end you are holding has a button you can press to open the charge port, provided you are close enough. Alternatively, you can open the charge port via the Quick Controls section of the Model S main screen. Once you plug in, wait until the charge port flashes green to confirm that charging has started. Take note of the estimated charging time; you will want to be back at the vehicle by the time the charging has finished, or you may incur idle fees (which will be forwarded to you). Once the car has finished charging, please remember to close the charge port (unfortunately this has to be done manually on the 2014 Model S). Charging is free for this 2014 Model S (ONLY at Tesla Supercharger stations), so you may want to prioritize charging at Tesla Supercharger stations as opposed to generic electric vehicle charging stations.

  • Where can I find Tesla Supercharging stations?

The main console screen map shows Tesla Supercharger stations as red pins. You can tap any nearby stations to see how many charging slots are available at the moment. You can plot a trip to a supercharger station using the main console screen map as well (but take note of the estimated battery charge you will have upon arrival; please ensure you have at LEAST 15% charge upon arrival, especially in colder weather).
