Description

🚗 Dual motor (AWD) 🔋 305-mile range (fully charged) 🔌 FREE Supercharging! *⏱ Unlike other Teslas here on Turo, this Model 3 IS NOT locked in Valet Mode, so you can experience the car to the fullest extent. Please drive responsibly and respect the owner's privacy! More about valet mode and why other Tesla rental offers use it: https://youtu.be/a-2LBOK0l98?t=50 If you are planning a longer road trip, I'll need 12 hours notice so I can charge the car to 90%. By default, it’ll be charged to 75%, for a 225 mile range. Please read the guidelines and check-in instructions carefully to avoid surprises with renting an electric car. If you have not used a Tesla before, I suggest you build about 5 minutes into your time table to familiarize yourself with it. I am looking forward to sharing my car with you!

Parking details

Street parking is generally available. If it gets limited, there's also the option to park in the driveway of our nearby residence.

Guidelines

No pets allowed–sorry. And please no smoking/vaping in the car. IMPORTANT Tesla Superchargers incur idle fees if the car remains plugged in for longer than 5 minutes after charging completes. You will be responsible for these fees and I will request reimbursement at the end of your trip. Many hotels and vacation rentals in and around Oregon offer free destination charging. Reimbursement will be requested for excess mileage. As per Turo guidelines, you are expected to return the car with the same charge level as when you picked it up (based on the estimated range remaining, which is documented during the check-in process). See https://support.turo.com/hc/en-us/articles/203990730-Paying-for-fuel for details. I understand that it's not always convenient to get the car charged before your trip ends, so please give me a heads-up if you are planning on returning the car with a lesser charge. IF the return charge is less than 90% from the initial charge, the cost for additional charging needed after return is $0.10 per mile difference from the original charge level + a $5 fee. GPS The car has GPS and its location is constantly tracked by Tesla and therefore available to me at any time.

Faqs

  • Why does the car slow down when I lift off the accelerator pedal?

The car will immediately start converting its kinetic energy (the one put in to make it move) back into electrical energy to charge the battery the moment you indicate that you intend to slow down by taking the foot off the "gas." This is called "regenerative breaking" and is part of what gives this car its range. It will only take a few minutes to get used to it and the nice thing about this behavior is that you rarely will need to use the breaks. Please don't change the regenerative breaking settings in the car.

  • The car seems "jumpy"–accelerating very quickly when I barely touch the pedal.

By default, the car should be in "Chill" mode, which makes it accelerate a bit less intense and makes the battery last longer. If you go to Car Settings > Driving, you can change that to "standard." If you feel like that makes the car jumpy, just set it back to "Chill."

  • Do I have to pay for supercharging?

Yes. Please see the guidelines for details. Supercharging and idle fees vary and reimbursement will be requested in addition to the rental fee.

  • Do I have to return the car fully charged?

It is suggested that you return the car at the same charge level as when your trip started. Please see the guidelines for detailed costs when returning the car with less than 90% of the initial charge.

Thomas was great to work with! He made it all very easy, the car was charged and ready. As for the car, it's quite awesome! I drove it on a 3.5 hour trip to Bend and got out very much 'not tired' at all. Same for the return trip. I highly recommend it!
