Have used Turo with my husband many times and have never had a disappointing experience until now. Overall, the car was fine and did the job for us. But, there were a couple hiccups right from the start that left us with a bad taste in our mouth.

First - Our car was switched 3 hours before checking in. Thankfully I was on in-flight WiFi to see and approve this change. Once approved, directions on what shuttle to take, where to find the car in the lot, and the lock box code were never sent by the host. The host says to call him at any time, except he didn’t answer calls. I texted. Waited. Waited. Waited. We thankfully found the car considering the shuttle just left us in the lot. Over 10 min and I finally got short responses and was told instructions were in the chat, except they weren’t. They were for our initial car, not the new one. The text replies by the host only came after I called, and then he blamed another one of his pals for not sending the info to us. After waiting over 10 min in the lovely AZ sun after traveling from Detroit, we finally received our code and got in the car to start our vacation. Again, poor first impression and quite unprofessional. Seems like a bunch of young dudes renting out cars that don’t know how to communicate efficiently when change occurs.

To add, the car was extremely dirty and the gas tank was not 100% full, even though we are required to fill it before we check out. There was zero windshield fluid and the windshield is very dirty. The inside of the car is filled with stains on the ceiling and seats. It just felt gross to sit in every time we drove in it.

Aside from these things, the car worked fine for us on our trip. We didn’t drive far which helped. Overall, would not book again.

Pick up was easy and quick. Instructions were clear! Car was great with gas. Had it for a week and only filled up when it was time to drop off. Great car and great host! Thank you!

This was a much better pick up and location pick up and drop off. The only thing that made it not 5 stars is that at pickup when we arrived at the airport the shuttle bus was a 30min wait and one shuttle was full so we had to wait for the next one. That was the only small issue besides that one of the better services with pickup and drop off.
