The vehicle itself performed well throughout the rental period. However, there were significant communication challenges that impacted the experience. At pickup, I waited 45 minutes in extreme heat (90+ degrees) on the airport parking garage roof for the host to grant Tesla app access. The host was initially unresponsive, later explaining that his phone had been stolen at that critical moment. While this was clearly an unfortunate circumstance beyond his control, the lack of backup communication protocols created a stressful start to the trip.
Communication throughout the rental appeared largely automated, with personal responses being brief when they did occur. Future renters should be prepared for minimal direct interaction and may want to confirm backup contact methods before pickup, especially for airport rentals where waiting conditions can be challenging. Despite the initial delay, the remainder of the rental proceeded smoothly
The phone was stolen while preparing another vehicle for a trip. I was on the highway when I noticed the phone was missing. What does one do when they lose something? They retrace their steps. I returned to the scene and there was no phone. It is 2025, ppl have their lives in their phone and are not willing to let strangers use their phone. I drove to the ATT store to communicate with someone who could help. This was communicated to the guest. Guest had no issues during the trip.
