Description

My Nissan leaf has a 24KWA battery, but I did have the battery replaced 3 years ago with the "Lizard" battery. The original 2012 Leaf battery had only 72 miles of EPA range brand new where the "Lizard" has 84 miles of EPA range. It now after 3 years has 10 bars out of 12 on the battery capacity guage. I installed a brand new battery 3 years ago giving it the full EPA range of 84 miles per charge which did cost me just shy of $7,500. With it now only having 10 out of the 12 bars of orginal capacity I estimate the rage to right about 70 miles of range in warm weather. Its all about how you drive, temperature, AC setting etc. In colder weather like 50 degrees you may only get 60 miles of range. There are scenarios with colder weather, rain, and having a lead foot where the range can be lower. Using the AC and heat can lower the range also. On the other hand with real conservative driving in really warm weather it can exceed 70 miles of range. The original heater failed. My research showed it to be a ridiculously expensive fix of up to $4,000 or more, so I installed after market heating/defrosting which has worked well for me. Some might consider this as an improvement because of just how inefficient the original heater was. I found posts online of people purposely trying to disable it for the sake of range, and putting in aftermarket heating like I did. It does also have heated seats and steering wheel. It really is fast off the line and fun to drive. Fast starts are one of the things that diminish range though. I'll leave the 110v charging cord in the trunk and a really long extension cord just in case. I've also been leaving a level 2 charger where if you have an electric dryer outlet it's almost 3 times faster then level one. It has the fast charging port for charging up to 50KWA. Bluetooth and built-in GPS works along with cd player. Unfortunately a guest that I had apperently decided to use my Leaf as a pick your part causing damage to the charge port and creating gap between the bumper and hood. I was able to straighten out the hinges of the charge port door and and install screws to the hinges. It now opens and closes. You'll usually see this car listed at rock bottom prices. Many people have been very thankful for it even with it's limited range. Go Green.

Jim is an incredibly kind guy who accommodated my rental request on short notice, and was very easy to work and communicate with. He’s also a fascinating guy to talk to. The car itself is great. Smooth ride and it was fun getting the hang of electric cars

This is an excellent host. We rented this vehicle for two months. He did not try to upcharge us not once like th others we tried to rent long term from. He includes the charger with the car which is a great help. Even so recognize charging is not easy. It's a 12 hour charge at home until full and a 30 minute at the CHADEMO for 80 miles. Start downloading the charging apps before you rent electrify america and chargepoint. Evgo is very problematic but sometimes it's all you have. This is a great host *****

Jim was an excellent host! Very kind, courteous, and generous. He was so willing to accommodate my delays and to help me with a ride to get the vehicle. The car was in great condition and fun to drive. It was the first electric vehicle I've driven and was a great experience. He did such a good job explaining everything and making sure that I knew everything about the car before I took it. From now on I will definitely use his vehicles instead of my usual rental company.
