The car check engine light came on a couple 30min after I got the car. I was booked to pick the car up at 3pm but didn't get it until 8pm but he didn't notify me about the check engine light until 10pm also third brake light doesn't work and passenger side quarter glass gets stuck .

I would lean more towards 3.5 stars. Starting from the beginning, the host did not want to wait for me to arrive at the airport and instead, left the car in the airport parking lot for me to pick up, despite the fact that I don’t think I was even that late, if I was late at all. I had a few issues with this: firstly, I would have wanted to touch base with him and get a tutorial of the car. The car has a lot of features that are not immediately obvious, nor are they immediately obvious with how to use. With my limited time on vacation — and call me “needy” if you’d like — I don’t want to spend a minute more than necessary trying to figure things out. Additionally, it was heavily raining the day I arrived, and the host had parked the car on the top level completely exposed to the rain. I got drenched not only walking to the car, but doing the “check-in” process, which involves taking pictures of the car. The only excuse I could accept for that is that the lower levels were full, which I was not able to confirm — and even then, I feel like better accommodations could have been made. Once I was more settled in, and the rain had stopped, a quick inspection of the car showed that it was definitely not pristine. The car was definitely not waxed, and the interior had the look of a car that had been used and abused many times over. Having said that, it’s still a Porsche, but it definitely did not have a new car feel. In fact, my first thought was that the interior felt like the inside of a “mom” car that was cleaned just enough to pass for clean relative to its condition. The check engine light turned on for an unclear reason — something he warned me after the fact might happen — but then it went on a second time for something unrelated to what the host had warned me about; this did not affect the driving, however. The car otherwise was, admittedly, sexy. It is a head-turner and that is this experience’s saving grace. Even at 63,000ish miles, it is still a good car, and I was honestly surprised by how well it performed. It sounds amazing and is definitely a performance car. From what I could tell, the car was all stock, so that was very impressive. It was so amazing that most people who acknowledged it clearly gave me a look of approval or jealousy. I should also mention that, despite the cars flaws — most notably the interior — I had a feeling of “whatever — this isn’t my car,” which helped me shrug off most of my above concerns. The straw that broke the camel’s back, so to speak, for me was the return process. The host basically wanted me to return the car exactly as I had received it. I was hesitant about this because it involved doing things that were a little less than secure for the car, and made me feel liable should something happen. Additionally, he was very particular about which parking lot to leave it at, which forced me to leave the lot I had originally left it at and pay a parking fee for that. That also caused me to just make my flight, as navigating the airport was difficult for me, especially during a stressful point in my journey back home. He was apologetic about it, but seemed to initially be annoyed when I told him it was in a lot that was different than the one he had told me to put the car in (after the fact). All in all, I would do it again, but that’s assuming there aren’t any lingering issues that come and get me after this trip (like something that I supposedly broke or fines/tolls that I wasn’t aware of), and because I would know what to expect the next time around. I should also mention that, all things considered, I thought the trip was reasonably priced. Having said that, you get what you pay for, even if it is a (discounted) rental Porsche, and I wouldn’t expect any sort of concierge service, even if it is a Porsche.

erkam's response

We never want to be late for the deliveries, I dont think anyone would want to wait. Since there is different deliveries we drop off the cars at parking with the keys. Yes , for returning it was not even parked at airport parking so we wanted it to be parked at where its picked up :)
