Description

Electrify your next trip with this fully electric 2021 Ioniq! Clean interior meets clean energy, as this all-electric Ioniq SE gets you where you need to go in comfort and style. This roomy sedan handles great, and with the accompanying plug-in charger, you'll never be out of options for fueling up on your next trip! Two 12v lighter-style plugs can power you up while you drive, and the wireless charging pad can keep your phone topped up as well. If you are not familiar with electric cars, no worries - this Ioniq has a 160 mile range (depending on how aggressively you drive), and here in the Bay Area, we are blessed with tons of charging stations! You might find it useful to download an app like EVGo or ChargePoint - or even A Better Route Planner - to help you find a fast charging station near you. I do include a level one "trickle charger" which is ideal for overnight charging. I include instructions as well, to flatten the learning curve as much as possible. It sounds like a lot, but with a tiny bit of planning, this electric car will be perfect for your trip! Upon your return, you have the choice to bring the car back at 80% charge or more, or drop it off at anything under. Anything less than 80% will be charged a $25 recharging fee.

Faqs

  • How do I charge this car?

All around the Bay Area, we have tons of charging options - from level 2 to Fast Charging. It helps to download a route planning app like A Better Route Planner. This one will help you find charging stations on your route to ensure you stay charged up.

  • Do I need a special adapter to charge?

Nope, just pull off the cover and plug in!

  • I wasn't paying attention and ran the car out of juice - how do I get things going again?

While not ideal for the life of the car, you can still get back on the road. You'll need to call AAA (or another towing service) and have them tow you to a place you can charge at - either your house or a charging station. They will need to jumpstart the 12v battery in the engine first BEFORE you will be able to charge the vehicle.

  • There are SO MANY confusing options with charging stations! What should I look for to get me the fastest charge?

This car is equipped to handle both a J1772 charger AND a CSS charger, the most common chargers you'll find at any given charging station. The J1772 is considered a Level 2 charger, and will get you up to about 20 miles per hour. If you're in a hurry, you'll want to look for the CSS, or DC Level 3 charging stations since those will fill you up in about 15-60 min, depending on your current battery level.

  • What happens if I run the car out of power?

In short, the car dies and it needs to be towed. Obviously it's not good for the car to do this, so please be aware of your range.

  • Can I message you with any issues or questions I have during my trip?

ABSOLUTELY! I'm always here to help make your trip as smooth as possible!

  • Is there a rule of thumb for when to charge?

If you are at your destination, use the included Level 1 charger as soon as you can. But if you're on the road, try not to let the car get lower than 20 miles left (the range will be displayed on the dash for you). This way you can ensure you won't totally run out of power.
