You can check this instruction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHRjx1Ag4hg Step-by-Step Connection: Start Your Car Turn on the engine and allow the SYNC 3 system to boot up. Connect Your iPhone Use a Lightning to USB cable to plug your iPhone into the USB port (usually located in the center console or below the infotainment screen). Enable Apple CarPlay On your iPhone, you may get a prompt to allow Apple CarPlay—tap "Allow". On the SYNC 3 screen, a pop-up will appear—press "Continue" and then "Enable" Apple CarPlay. Use CarPlay The SYNC 3 screen will now switch to the CarPlay interface, showing Apple apps like Maps, Music, Messages, and more. Use touchscreen controls, the steering wheel buttons, or Siri voice commands by holding the voice control button on the steering wheel. Troubleshooting: If CarPlay doesn’t work, try the following: Ensure your iPhone is updated to the latest iOS. Check if Apple CarPlay is enabled under Settings > General > CarPlay on your iPhone. Make sure your SYNC 3 system is updated (you can check for updates via Ford's website). Use a different USB cable or try a different USB port in your Mustang.
