Description

The BMW i3 is a very fun, quirky, and practical car. It doesn’t have the longest range, but it’s perfect for getting around town. It charges very fast and has lot of interior room for such a small car. It’s very fun and nimble! It’s such a pleasure to drive!

FAQs

  • How do I charge the car?

The car can be plugged into any standard wall outlet using the included 30 ft. charging cable. It takes about 7-8 hours to fully charge, so ideally you want to charge it overnight. You can also find many public Level 2 chargers which can charge it in about 3-4 hours. It can also be charged in only 15-20 min from a Level 3 DC Fast Charging station, but there are very few of these around. Charging stations can be found using the car's GPS or the PlugShare or Charge Point apps.

  • What is the range on a full charge?

All electric range on a full charge is about 60-65 miles, but at highway speeds the range will be closer to 45-50 miles. This is a fantastic city car that you can use to drive to work or around town and then charge while you sleep. Due to the limited range and fast charging options, I do not recommend taking it out of town on a road trip as you would need to stop frequently to charge

  • Can the car be charged outside if it's raining and can the charging cable get wet?

Yes, you can charge outside even if it's raining. However, make sure that the end of the charging cable is dry before plugging it into the car. Also, please make sure the box in the middle of the cable does not get submerged. It can get wet, but it will get damaged if it sits in a puddle of water. If it gets damaged, you will be charged for replacing it.
