This is the 2025 Lotus Emira AMG. I’ve always enjoyed my manual Lotus cars, but this is an AUTOMATIC w/ PADDLE SHIFTING! Lotus sourced a complete powertrain from Mercedes' go-fast division, AMG. The hand-built all-aluminum engine with its twin-scroll intercooled turbocharger is the most powerful production 2.0L motor on sale. It makes 317 ft/lbs of at 7200 RPM! The engine is the most powerful four-cylinder in Lotus' history, and mated with AMG’s stout 8-speed gearbox, it’s one of the best driving touring coupes available today. When you get in the car, you’ll wanna put it in Track Mode immediately. The engine sounds differently than the Mercedes version, so definitely put the windows down while starting it! The sound from the intake, which is directly outside the driver‘s window, is great! There’s nothing better than hearing a turbo being exercised- whoosh, blow off, hiccup, snort, pop, pop, gasp, bazaaah, crack…..a car enthusiasts symphony!
