How do I charge?
⚡️There are no super charges on the island, but there are many free chargers. Download plugshare or the Volta apps to find them. The adapter provided J1772 in the center console can be used to charge at public stations. Most public charges provide 15-22miles per hour. ⚡️You May also charge with a regular wall outlet with the charging connector provided in the car. This will only charge at 3miles per hour. ⚡️Check with your hotel for charging. Some will charge it for you. ⚡️If you can, it is recommended to charge overnight. If this is not possible you must plan your trip to find chargers around the island. We are always available to help if needed. ⚡️Do not let the car go below 50miles of range without charging.
What is Ludicrous Mode?
We are one of the only Model S’s in the nation for rent with the ability to activate this mode! This mode allows the Model S to travel and accelerate at speeds faster than super cars in production today! 0-60 in 2.4 seconds! With this mode activated your range on the vehicle will be reduced due to the increased battery power usage. However, it is easily turned on and off. Please plan accordingly. Everyone should experience this because it is unlike anything you have ever done in a car!
Is there fast charging on Oahu?
⚡️There are fast chargers ran by Hawaiian Electric on the island that require a CHADEMO adapter, which you May add to your trip. You will get 100-150miles per hour of charge. Only newer Tesla Model X and Model S are compatible. Amy and Jeremy were super awesome hosts. They are always available and quick to respond. They were flexible with me regarding extending the rental during the covid-19 shutdown. As for the car... amazing experience if you have never driven a Tesla. This was my first time driving one and I think it is safe to say I will get one for myself...just a matter of which model. Ludicrous speed is also a fun experience. This car is also comfortable, clean, and a treat to drive. There is a bit of a learning curve in the beginning if you are new to Tesla’s. Once you get the hang of not really needing to break that often and get over the fear of letting autopilot have control it is an experience to remember. Highly recommend this car and it’s hosts!

This is an amazing car. It was super clean and delivered to us at Waikiki. Amy did a super job of showing us the car and setting up a driver profile. As far as driving this car is awesome. Smooth and quite, instant torque to merge or pull out into traffic. Lane assist and cruise works everywhere I tried it. It becomes the lanes when you wouldn't think it could. I used the adaptive cruise the most. In stop and go it does it all for you set the cruise at the highest speed you want to go and when you go through a congested area it takes care of all the breaking and acceleration. Be careful with lane assist though it takes a little more force than you think to take it out and it doesn't see the road surface to avoid rough spots or pot holes. It doesn't like it when you move over to straddle a pot hole and one side is on the white line. I drove without it on most of the time. It's really easy to blow a tire and they are not cheap and not covered by the standard Turo insurance. We blew a tire on the north shore at 10-20mph while in stop and go traffic I would never have expected that so just be cautious. Tow trucks take a long time and Tesla had to change the tire at the service center in Honolulu. We lost one whole afternoon/evening. Amy and Jeremy were great however and offered another day with a very generous discount (as low as they could go). Super hosts and a super vehicle. We only charged once and the charge was free. We used the Tesla chargers at international market place while we shopped and ate dinner. About 2 hours and we added 90+ miles. Dinner validated our parking so total was $6.00 to park and charge. I paid for the recharge option and if I did it again I would do the same. We would have spent 4 hours charging before we returned it and that's a lot of time to not use the car when you pay so much to drive it. We only had it 3 days but we drove a lot. I would do it again the car made every drive worth it. Thank you Amy and Jeremy.
