Meet “Goldie” a 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL. The Quintessential California Cruiser. The 1980’s SL’s are and were the ultimate status symbol in Los Angeles. Goldie is the epitome of that status symbol. Goldie came from an heiress who lived in Palm Springs and took great care of her for the last 33 years. She is well maintained with good A/C and Heat, a good sound system and convertible top with rear windscreen installed for top down driving. This car can easily be driven to and from Palm Springs or Las Vegas without a worry. We left her Original Mercedes Soft Top on her. We understand it’s fragile but we love the originality of it. We can guarantee that most 560’s don’t have the original Mercedes factory tops but Goldie is still holding on to hers. That’s why we deliver top down unless requested, we operate the top as little as possible to preserve it, and let’s be honest it’s California everyone wants to cruise top down! Goldie’s paint is 95% original it photographs incredibly well. Amazing shine and depth. Just understand up close with an eagle eye you will see imperfections. Trust us they don’t show up in photographs taken from 2-3 feet from her. She loves her imperfections! We just upgraded the stereo with Aux input and Bluetooth pairing so you have a great soundtrack while cruising to the desert, Malibu, or up the coast. In the world of bland performance and luxury cars we live in today where you can’t tell one from the next this is a statement car that says “I have arrived”. Trust us, Goldie is a lady, she makes an entrance! Goldie is your car for a weekend, a photo or video shoot or a week in California. Our service is top notch and we really appreciate you looking at Goldie as your ride for your trip. Check out the add-ons to make the most of your trip. Easy pickup 15 mins from Burbank Airport and delivery available. Car equipped with tracking devices. View the FAQs for quick answers about Goldie. NO SMOKING ANYTHING IN THE CAR PLEASE!

No Smoking Anything in The Car. No Burnouts. Do not attempt to cross over into Mexico Car seats and booster seats not permitted as this is a two-seater vehicle. Do not attempt to put passengers in the back deck area behind the seats. This is wildly unsafe and you will get pulled over. 91 Octane Gas Only. Please put gas receipts in the glove box. Car is equipped with multiple tracking devices.
Mercedes couldn’t engineer a power top at the time that didn’t break constantly. It’s manually operated with a few key steps. Personally when we use the car we keep the top down as much as possible. There is a car cover that fits over the interior only in the trunk we use often when we don’t want to put up and down the top repeatedly. It can be tricky but mastered quickly after watching this short YouTube clip below. The front top “keys” are in the glove box. (Screenshot the page and then copy this link) https://youtu.be/PRahtxInYGg?si=BU0D1pBWBo5OF_jG
Don’t panic. The check engine light in these cars were basically only designed to monitor the new emissions standards in the 1980’s. As long as the car is running fine, the temperature gauge isn’t climbing and there are no pings or taps from the engine just keep driving. Sometimes it comes on when you start it and then will go off on a whim. It’s part of Goldie’s charm.
Turn the radio on by pressing the big knob in. Select SRC. The radio will display BT then Connect. The pairing code is 1234. We keep it simple. The radio is set to turn off every time the ignition goes off so you will need to turn it on again upon start up. SPARE AUX CORDS ARE IN THE GLOVEBOX $15 charge for missing cords. The antenna has an up down button in the middle of the dash so you can extend it for better terrestrial radio reception.
This can happen with the door sensors. Just rock the key back to the left after locking it will stop. Just make sure the doors are locked after doing so.
We have the brakes checked after every trip. Yes they will make a little noise it’s normal on these cars using vintage parts. The noise doesn’t come from the working parts of the brakes but the backings on them. We replace our brake pads at 30% left of wear always.
Well she’s a great Hollywood lady like Goldie Hawn. Sexy, sophisticated, and a class act. Btw she’s painted in Champagne. (Basically metallic gold)
We try to accommodate our guests as much as possible. Just communicate with us. Typically we base our turnaround times on cars at 5 hours so if you are running 3 hours late to your drop off we only have 2hours to make our next guest’s trip happen. We would have to charge something for that. The faster you communicate the issue to us the faster we can help you without impacting our other guests and mitigating extra charges to you.
YES. It is expensive to keep Goldie on the road. The more miles, the more maintenance we need to do for her.
The headlights on off is located to the left of the steering wheel. Gently pull out and rotate down left to put on the lights and her sweet fog lights. God bless the US DOT in the 80’s for requiring terrible sealed beam headlights. The stalk to the left with a push forward gets the high beams on.
The yellow cover is a cabin cover that lays over the open top of the car. It easily drapes over the open cabin when the top is down. We use this a lot when we don’t want to put up the top. Just roll the windows up and lock the doors. The grey cover is a full car cover. We use this for overnights if we think it might rain or we are in an area where dust/curious people may be.
Don’t panic! The wiring on these old cars is finicky. The ABS light might come on during normal use just like the SRS light. Once Goldie is turned off and then back on no lights will appear. Neither of these lights affect her performance. They will typically come on in wet weather or early in the morning when she’s cold and being a bit extra.
