This was a bad experience. If you rent this car, do not be surprised if it ends up costing you double or triple the list price. When I returned the car, the host and I discovered there was a scrape on the underside the vehicle. It seemed minor to me and not a huge issue for her, as she described it as "common" because of uneven Los Angeles roads. But she later contacted me and pressured me to pay her directly and out of pocket for expensive repairs, of both the scrape (invisible unless you stick your head under the car) and a small scratch I never noticed and can't be sure wasn't already there. In all my other experience renting cars, on Turo and at rental companies, I've never had issues over wear and tear. My assumption was, unless there's an accident, or real damage, these small things are part of the cost of doing business. So just be aware that is not the case with this host. That's not her assumption. If there is any kind of mark on the car, you will pay or go through a lengthy and stressful claims process.

Zhuyu's response

The renter returned the my BMW premium car with a 5 inch deep scratch through clear coat on the door panel and multiple tear on car bottom and did not mention any of that during the return. The renter considered the damage to be "normal wear and tear" and refused to take responsible on that. I asked the renter to have the damage claim settle individually but it didn't work out as he believed he was not liable for anything. I have to hand the damage claim to Turo claim team.
