This is an all-electric vehicle with a maximum range of approximately 85 miles. Our Nissan Leaf is a great low-budget option for basic transportation during your visit to Kauai, but it has limitations due to its small range. Please don't book it if you plan to drive many miles every day. Please don't book it and give me less than a 5-star rating because it has limited range. It's great for short trips to the beach, restaurants, and excursions. However, if you want to explore the farthest reaches of the island (such as Waimea Canyon and Haena), you may need to stop to recharge the car while having lunch or dinner in order to return to your lodging. However, there are charging stations in convenient locations, so you won't be stranded as long as you plan ahead. Don't hesitate to reach out anytime if you have questions about charging. Driving an all-electric car is a great way to enjoy your visit to the garden island while saving the planet. Kauai’s power grid is nearly 70% powered by renewable energy including solar, hydropower, and biomass. We will provide tips for charging the car on Kauai. Airport Delivery Information: Turo operates a shuttle from Lihue Airport to a remote parking lot about 10 minutes away (near Target, Costco, and other shopping options). I will either meet you at the parking lot for check-in, or I'll provide a combination to a lockbox. The hatchback provides enough storage for several suitcases, It is a great car for an individual, couple, or family with one child, but would also work for a family of four with carry-on luggage or no more than one or two large checked bags. Or if you opt to have the car delivered to you at a resort or house in Poipu (or pick it up at my house), you won't have to worry about luggage and can just enjoy the car for your day trips. Prior to and during your stay on Kauai, I can provide tips about things to do and where to go on Kauai. Rules: - Please do not take the car off road. - No smoking in or near the vehicle. - Try to avoid parking where the car might get door dings. - No pets. - Do not use spray sunscreen in or near the vehicle. - Avoid transferring sunscreen from bodies to seats or other surfaces. - If the car is left excessively dirty (inside or out), a cleaning fee may be charged. - Do not use any automatic car wash except Sudz.
