DO NOT USE THIS VEHICLE OR DO BUSINESS WITH THIS OWNER. The owner stated to me that her vehicle was just in the shop just prior to her dropping it off to me at the airport on 2/19/20 and to let her know if issues arose. When the vehicle wouldn’t start just prior to me heading back to the airport upon our departure day, I called the owner and despite her anger and extreme use of profanity, she stated it was an “anti-theft thing” that she has installed and that it couldn’t be anything I did wrong with the vehicle and she would need to take it back to the shop to be reprogrammed. All of the lights turned on in the vehicle but the engine just simply would not turn over. My husband and I stayed and attempted to help the owner with the situation but eventually we had to go so I had to pay for another ride to the airport and we were late checking into our flight. Once I got to the airport I called Turo support to report the incident as I wanted to make sure the situation was documented since it was atypical and the owner seemed very angry at situation despite her saying repeatedly “this isn’t your fault.” The next thing I know was I got an email a few days later saying she is claiming mechanical damage to the vehicle when there is no possible way this mechanical issue could be my fault. I am so upset that this claim was not investigated prior to Turo charging $500 to my account. I feel severely wronged by this situation as it is out of my hands and clearly a mechanical issue. I am currently pregnant-I had to pay for another ride, almost missed my flight, and now am being charged with something that is out of my hands. I feel wronged in this situation. I am currently having the situation investigated. I would NEVER use this vehicle or owner again due to the lack of integrity she has as she is trying to get me to pay for the work her vehicle required.

My wife needed a car to do customer-requested upgrades on our rental property in Kona - so we understand the details and challenges involving providing a service, as we are often in a similar position. Christel was wonderful. Mahalo!

We had a great first experience using Turo! Christel & her family were super nice and easy going. We were also able to extend our trip with no problem. Car was perfect for getting us around in Kona, much better and easier then renting from a typical car rental. Thanks again!!
