Description

Visiting Maui? This is the vehicle for you! This little very clean car with low mileage will allow you to zip around all parts of the island at ease including the road to Hana, Haleakala crater, west Maui mountains, Lahaina, Paia, and much more! Flying into the Kahului/OGG airport? Great! We can have your vehicle waiting for you upon your arrival if airport delivery is selected. Just grab your luggage and walk out the front doors and pick up vehicle in the public parking area. Drop back off at the airport for added convenience. No hassling or waiting with rental car companies. Airport delivery fee of $35 includes pickup and return but not the parking lot fees of up to $15. 🌈Maui Adventures🌴 For the full list of recommendations with individual links to food, hiking, best beaches, ziplines, luau's, waterfalls, snorkeling, and much more copy and paste link below: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ue_GRm1akX1UqnCxOoK7N1UhWz52lPo-QLgjCK3nUfA/edit?usp=sharing Lahaina/Kaanapali side: Kapalua Beach. If you snorkel there, you see huge turtles. Airport Beach Blackrock Dragon's teeth- cool lookout where the rocks look like teeth. Nakalele blowhole Whale tour (when in season Nov -March). Hiking: Kapalua Trails K’anapali Beach Walk Food: highly recommend getting the https://www.opentable.com/ app and booking early Kimo’s Honu Star Noodle Mala Dukine Monkey Pod (must try the mai tai & pumpkin ravioli!) have a location on South shore as well. Leilani’s Joey’s Kitchen Macadangdang Duke’s -get the hula pie The Gazebo Sea House Merriman’s - $$$ Plantation House - $$$ Cane & Canoe - $$$ Miso phat (featured with Guy Fieri) or Sansei’s (both have a west side as well as south shore location) Choice (Vegan/Live food) have locations in Lahaina, Whalers Village, & Paia A’a Roots (vegan) Moku Roots (vegan) Kihei / Wailea side: Hoapili trail -get there early, not much shade Beach Walk -again...early, not much shade, great for seeing whales during season Makena Beach aka Big Beach -not good for kids, the waves are no joke Polo Beach Charley Young The Cove (where you learn how to surf) Ulua - Protip look for an excited banded goatfish, an octopus is close by. Mana Kai (busy but beautiful beach) Food: Ululani shaved Ice (across from Kihei Canoe Club, 3 locations go to the one that works for you) Kihei Caffe-breakfast, if the line is too long, go to Lava Rock, better views and great mimosa deals (Kihei Caffe also has a west side location) Nalu’s -hands down my favorite breakfast. Ekolu same group that owns Nalu’s and only do dinner. So good! Havens yes I know it’s in a gas station, go anyway. You’re welcome Three’s (great hh) Lineage Southshore Grindz (local food) Pint & Cork (get the lobster mac!) Fred’s- Taco Tuesday & good breakfast Moose’s Cafe Ole 3 locations, all awesome Isana- sushi great HH Monsoon- Indian get there before it’s dark to enjoy the view Kamana Kitchen also Indian, less ambiance than Monsoon though Matteo’s Wailea Kitchen- Vegan Gannon’s -$$$ Ko -$$$ Morimoto $$$ Spago $$$ Humuhumu $$$ Duo $$$ Humble Kitchen $$$ The Restaurant 808 Deli has a great daily special for grab & go to the beach. Must follow either FB or IG for specials Hawaiian Moons for awesome local produce/health food options. (if you’re from the bay area this will remind you of Berkeley Bowl/Rainbow Grocery) That’s a wrap (health food, has a daily special on FB) Kahului/ Wailuku aka “Town” Iao Valley - amazing 10 min hike. Read the story online about this place. The Hawaiian Gods had battles there. Gives me goosebumps! Must go. Wailuku Cross Hike - extremely hard because of elevation climb but if I can do it... so can you! Driftwood Sculptures Cat Cafe Escape room Food: Ale House - sports Brigit & Bernards Tin Roof -featured with Gordon Ramsey Tiffany’s Tasty Crust Tiki Tiki Thai 808 on Main Zippy’s- local food Cupies- local food Bistro Casanova - great HH Guri Guri << this is ONLY on Maui Nonoy - local treat found only in Hawai’i Down to Earth for awesome local produce/health food options. (if you’re from the bay area this will remind you of Berkeley Bowl/Rainbow Grocery) Paia/Haiku: most beautiful little town (one stop light). Surfboard walls to take photos Ho’okipa Beach - great surf Also has 30+ turtles that come sleep on the beach ~11am-1pm. 🐢 Please be pono, our turtles are protected and endangered, give them space...or you could be facing a very hefty fine. Go by Mana foods for awesome local produce/health food options. (if you’re from the bay area this will remind you of Berkeley Bowl/Rainbow Grocery) Greenleaf Farm Awalau Farm Food: I haven’t found anything that’s NOT good here...so if you see it, stop by and check it out. Here’s a few reccos just in case Paia Fish Market (3 locations, West, south and north shore, this is the original) Charley’s often you’ll find Willie Nelson’s son hanging out (closed until further notice) Milagro’s great HH NyloS Lima Mama’s Fish house -tip, go for lunch, you can see the view, same food less $$ Nuka - sushi Haleakala sunrise above the clouds. Have to buy a ticket pass online (booked 60 days out). You have to be up there by 4 am. Great to do on the first morning here since we are 2 or 3 hours behind PNW depending on season. You will be up at that time no trouble! Also, drive slow because it’s the fastest road from sea level to 10,000 feet. Also bear this in mind if you are doing any SCUBA while on island, you can get the bends if you’re not mindful! I got elevation sickness driving too fast up and down with a local. Be safe!! Or you can book a tour: Eco Tour Bike Maui Upcountry: Pukalani/ Makawao/Kula O’O Farm Kula Lodge is now 5 Palms great views, good for breakfast and HH The Wooden Crate Komoda Bakery Grandma’s across the street from Thompson Road, bring apples or carrots for the horses! Polli’s (get a tropical margarita!) Hali’imaile General Store Ulupalakua ranch store for lunch (across the street from the winery) Lavender farm (seasonal/spring) Maui Goat Yoga I’ve done it, SO fun! Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center Maui Winery they book up weeks in advance, get your reservations ASAP! Road to Hana I recommend the Shaka App for this. Tons of waterfalls on the drive, driving by the waterfalls is just as good as a quick stop. Most beautiful drive ever, be warned the road is a lot of switchbacks and areas of 1 lane road. Takes minimally 2.5 hours to get there, and that’s without stopping. Leave early!! This takes all day. Bring water, toilet paper, sunscreen, snacks, small bills if you want to get some local produce from an unmanned fruit stand, and bug spray...if you see a local, pull over! I promise they drive WAY faster than you ever will, plus, they’re rarely interested in the scenery, they’ve got places to go, help them get there on time by pulling out for local traffic. If you’re willing, I highly recommend staying the night in Hana. 😬Recommendations: black beach, rainbow eucalyptus, lava tube, seven sacred pools, bamboo hike!!! There’s 3 waterfalls on the hike. Limited off the road food/drink shacks. Hamoa Beach- reliable surf break. Aka the “surf spot” for all the cool kids 🏄🏼‍♂️🏄‍♀️ ***please pay attention to weather, do not go if there is a flood watch!!**** Wai’iānapanapa requires a reservation, it books the day it releases, which is 30 days out, this is also very close to hana town, so plan accordingly, if you’re doing the drive in 1 day, you’ll want this as late in the afternoon as possible. If you’re staying the night…likely less people the next day in the morning. Most locations run out of food by 4pm, so get your food, even if you’re not hungry as soon as you arrive. I recommend (the shaka app will also give recommendations) Halfway to Hana Coconut Glens (vegan ice cream, worth it, promise!) Aunty Sandy’s (this is off the main road, so be committed!) Tony’s Place (friend owns this, so obviously high on my list!) Huli Huli Chicken (featured on Gordon Ramsey, they run out by noon!) Thai Food by Pranee Hana Ranch Sit down option, and pretty much the ONLY option for pre-made food past 4pm. Waterfall swim spots Twin falls - be aware you will be fined if you aren’t pono with your parking, and the lot is now $10 to park Venus Pool - do NOT enter if there are flash flood warnings if the water’s brown, get out of town! Pua’a Ka'a state wayside Olivine Pools Seven sacred pools but that’s past Hana, and requires a fee for the national park, and mostly it’s closed for swimming due to loose rocks. It's the same fee as Haleakaela summit, so keep your pass! More waterfalls/hikes Famous chef’s recommendations: Gordon Ramsey Guy Fieri Brewery’s Kohola (only on West Side) Beach House Beer (only on West Side) Mahalo Ale House (Upcountry) Maui Brew Co (has food and both a west & south location) Waikiki Brew (has food and both a west & south location) Or do a tour of all of them: Brewery Tour (friend owns this, so you know...gotta give love!)
