First time Turo user. The interface and rental system seemed great. The pickup location was great, unfortunately the experience was unpleasant. There was a very strong odor of marijuana in the vehicle. After stopping at a gas station I looked around because the smell was over powering. I noticed a bag in the glove box with THC paraphernalia and it reeked. I discarded it and the car still continued to smell. I got second, third and fourth opinions to ensure I wasn’t off and all stated immediately that the odor was strong. I was already at my destination and with scheduled events, returning wasn’t an option. I parked the vehicle at my destination and only returned to it to get back to the airport. I have no desire to drive in a vehicle with my children and subject them to the smell. Being in the military, I had to enter a federal installation. Had I accidentally unknowingly done so, I could have faced serious repercussions. I provided this feedback to the provider only when asked how the trip was. I was then told I was lying and asked if I took pictures. I wasn’t trying to profit off this or ask for a refund. I only provided honest feedback when asked. It’s sad that going on the offensive towards a customer is the first step in addressing an issue.
